here's full game replay of Arsenal vs Chelsea, can't find any condensed high lights, but it's well worth watching just for Beth Mead's phenomenal dribbling in the first half

Reading climbs up to the third place.

    1. Chelsea 29 pts + 25 pl13
    2. Man City 26 pts + 20 pl12
    --------------------
    3. Reading 22 pts +16 pl 13

    5. Arsenal 21 pts +10 pl11
    6. Liverpool 21 +7 pl12

The top 6 teams all have a chance of champions league qualification. Unlike in previous seasons where the top two teams were not dropping too many points to smaller teams, it is happening a lot for some reasons.

And the top two teams are both in the champions league and FA Cup semi-finals and piling up games due to the usual stupid schedule.

Here are the percentage of points realised compared to those available for the whole season.

    2011 Arsenal 76% Birmingham 69%
    2012 Arsenal 81% Birmingham 62%
    2013 Liverpool 86% Bristol 74%
    2014 Liverpool and Chelsea 62%
    2015 Chelsea 76% Man City 71%
    2016 Man City 87% Chelsea 77%
2017 Spring Series Chelsea and Man City 79%

Current season Chelsea 74% Man City 72%

Added note the two FA Cup semi-finals are shown live on BBC website and tv. Red button for Everton Arsenal and BBC 2 on Sunday, Chelsea v Man City

So, the top team in "underperforming" - only the 2014 champions did worse - but it seems like the 2nd-place team is more or less business as usual...

Millwall Lionesses ( FA WSL 2) are on the brinks of administration. Sad news. Unbeaten in the League for 400 days now.

yeah, a few things come to mind, they badly managed their money and the FA control system is really bad. A year ago Notts County folded, and Millwall were awarded a license for the 2018/19 season back in December.

The FA's decision to push for sudden changes is damaging teams. But with Man United coming in with a team created from scratch, they are happy...

Mmm, and if anyway Chelsea and Manchester didn't manage to advance to the final, it's difficult to think that other English teams could have made it.

Looks like, despite investments and big international names, FA WSL still lacks something against the absolut top teams in Europe. :coffee:

Actually, it even looks like City went closer than Chelsea. Or is it because Chelsea tried more, while City's strategy was "trying not to lose" more than "trying to win"? :cautious:

if you go by the creed 'you can't have everything' (in this case the CL championship), they still got a lot to offer.

A), they've the best balanced league in Europe. Taking a look at the current standings, there's only a 5 point difference between the top 4 teams. 7 points between the top 6/

    B) their getting big crowds/or at least in their FA cup finals. As the chart at the threat for the Mexican league shows. they can boast 3 of the 7 biggest crowds in woso pro club history

    C) they're doing it with mostly their own players. take a look at the goal scoring standings and it's rather shocking to find out they dominate almost the entire chart
    https://us.women.soccerway.com/national/england/wsl/20172018/spring-series/r42766/

compare that with the heavy foreign influence of Wolfsburg(only 4 German starters) or Lyon(7 big name foreign players).
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

to be sure, there are some negatives; Man City looks a bit weaker than last year when they had Bronze, Lloyd & Duggan/Chelsea giving up on Crystal Dunn, who the last I saw her play for them was by far the most steady player on the team(compared to all the give away's in the Wolsfburg game without her)

the mostly English influence style being used(as compared the Bundesliga where teams have used different styles/systems) which can be hard for foreign players like Miedema & Nadim to get used to

Manchester City are away to Bristol tonight. They could be top of the League if they win by 3 goals minimum. They would also open a huge four points gap on the chasing teams and make them close to guarantee Champions League football.

big game today; the FA Cup final between Arsenal & Chelsea at Wembley. Ticket sales supposedly have sold past the 40K mark. Might/might not be the biggest pro club crowd this year as last night the 2nd leg final of the Mexican League drew 47K.
Not sure if there's any live feeds(can't watch it live myself do to work). But probably plenty of play backs later on. A little lack of luster for me since both teams are coming of loosing games; Chelsea, twice whipped easily by Wolfsbug in CL semis/Arsenal stunningly, loosing 0-3 to Birmingham City in league play. But maybe both teams saved their best for today?
Here's some previews from Chelsea's facebook page

45 243 spectators. Ticket prices were £15 for adults, discounts were £7.50 and kids coming alongside an adult came for free thanks to sponsor SSE.
Add all the free tickets offered to women/girls football club, the revenue made is not great, but what counts is bums on seat.

here's highlights of the cup final. The full game is available now at youtube. as well

my impressions; dunno how many Wembley holds, but it's hard to believe sometimes that there 45K at this game, especially the lower, mid bleachers(would this be the most popular place to watch?) seemed more than half empty. But then maybe people bought on live tickets to support the game, but didn't really want to make the trip to see it?.

Wasn't the greatest of games, especially from Arsenal. Their left side defense(Mitchel & Quinn) was especially weak, letting especially Bachmann free to run with reckless abandon. Kim Little doesn't seem to be the same after her ACL. Sometimes players get better after an injury, but seems very opposite for her, not one penetrating move(which was her forte at Seattle), but then the usual competent Nobbs didn't play well either, & it didn't help that they played the usual English game of trying to get the ball to just one attacker(Miedema).

Creds to Chelsea, but still can't get the sting out on how bad they played vs Wolfsburg
