We need 4 cb's for Gold Cup and 4 for Copa America. Actually, we have prelim and finals in GC where we don't play same players so even more needed but let's say 8. we are planning for Qatar 2022. we want to have everybody vetted by the time quali's start. Brooks is injured. Sure he comes back but then somebody else is injured so let's just leave him to one side. Opara and Besler will be too old. O'Neill was put in there as a joke, right? you have miazga, ccv, epb and Parker.I'm ok with that so far. I need 4 more for the plan to work. I cant book 2022 tickets for Besler or Opara.
It is a crazy plan and waste of games we have. If the kid is good enough then great. Mandating we arbitrarily need 8+ CD makes no sense. We’ve already wasted enough time on guys that will never play a regular role with the NT in the November and March friendlies. Do MLS players need more than one free tryout a year to prove they can make it this level? If a player can’t make the 30 player group is he really close to being international level? According to Sir Sarachan, he rates Glad, Opara, Parker and Zimmerman over Long. If you want to rule out Opara (which I would... no idea why we have wasted any time on him), then please take Villafana out of consideration (which he never belonged to begin with) as he will be 33 in 2022 (approx a half year younger than Opara). GOALKEEPERS (4): Alex Bono (Toronto FC/CAN; 0/0), Bill Hamid (Midtjylland/DEN; 4/0), Cody Cropper (New England Revolution; 0/0), Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew SC; 0/0) DEFENDERS (9): Danny Acosta (Real Salt Lake; 0/0), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake; 0/0), Nick Lima (San Jose Earthquakes; 0/0), Justin Morrow (Toronto FC/CAN; 3/0), Ike Opara (Sporting Kansas City; 0/0), Tim Parker (Vancouver Whitecaps FC/CAN; 0/0), Matt Polster (Chicago Fire; 0/0), Brandon Vincent (Chicago Fire; 1/0), Walker Zimmerman (Los Angeles Football Club; 1/0) MIDFIELDERS (11): Tyler Adams (New York Red Bulls; 1/0), Paul Arriola (D.C. United; 15/2), Russell Canouse (D.C. United; 0/0), Marky Delgado (Toronto FC/CAN; 0/0), Marlon Hairston (Colorado Rapids; 0/0), Ian Harkes (D.C. United; 0/0), Brooks Lennon (Real Salt Lake; 0/0), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders FC; 1/0), Kelyn Rowe (New England Revolution; 3/1), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC; 2/0), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy; 37/6) FORWARDS (6): Juan Agudelo (New England Revolution; 27/3), Dom Dwyer (Orlando City SC; 4/2), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC; 24/5), Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United FC; 0/0), Rubio Rubin (Unattached; 4/0), CJ Sapong (Philadelphia Union; 3/0)
He's been out recovering from a sports hernia. Apparently he had it the last half of last year and this spring and it never got better hence the surgery. He's almost back and there's a chance he gets a sub appearance today.
Your post makes no sense. (Where's Pulisic?) Anyway, Long didn't have a very good game against Chicago today. Maybe have to accept that Parker is better. Parker's passing sure has improved a lot since his rookie season. We have more games to come before call ups.
Root, root, rooting for the home team!Dave Sarachan gets tonight's @Phillies first pitch. But first: jersey swap. pic.twitter.com/x4L39YWcgc— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) April 24, 2018 THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. WHAT SERIOUS SOCCER COUNTRY TOUTS THEIR INTERIM COACH TO GO BE CEREMONIOUSLY WELCOMED IN PUBLIC????? I can't believe this. This is amazing. US Soccer is a MESS.
I AM STILL HEATED 20 MINUTES LATER. The dude is a fraud. You're better than this USSF. Come on. He's a puppet. A crap puppet.
If Sarachan is USMNT manager, come November of this year, then the "players group" that apparently put Cordeiro over the top had better start explaining what the hell they were thinking.
I'm not against Sarachan and his assistant Ritchie Williams. They are both experienced and knowledgeable to a certain degree. But get someone who is much more knowledgeable about International soccer, and more communicable. And not a person with personality issues. Like Bastian Schweinsteigger.
I don't like Sarachan, but I think we can relax on this one. I think it's likely that Sarachan happened to be in town setting up for the May friendly, and was introduced to some of the Philly-area sports guys and they asked him, "Hey, do you wanna throw a first pitch sometime." And not any important decision-makers - I'm thinking probably the Phillies' events coordinator or a marketing liaison or a PR rep. The ceremonial first pitch is not really the venerated tradition that they make it out to be. It used to be an honor given out a few times a season - but nowadays, it's something they do every night. The person throwing the pitch is often just some guy - maybe the VP from a corporate sponsor, or a host from a local sports radio station, or a contest-winner from a charity auction, or a bunch of actors promoting their new musical, or a reality TV star on a book tour, or a monkey from the local zoo, or perhaps a man dressed up in a creepy animal costume for reasons that are not entirely clear ...... Sometimes they have more than one ceremonial pitch in the same game - like 4 or 5 people, taking turns on the mound throwing a "first" pitch. So Sarachan gets to throw a ceremonial first pitch - so has Hello Kitty. In fact, Hello Kitty has thrown ceremonial first pitches multiple times, for multiple MLB franchises. And Hello Kitty has yet to receive serious consideration for the US MNT, despite having a perfect coaching record.
I just hate how US Soccer is trotting him out, “follow our head coach at the Phillies game!!!!!” No. He’s a BS interim who was the assistant to the biggest failure in our programs history. This wouldn’t fly in Italy
It's just baseball. Not like he's at something people actually care about like a Street Fighter tournament.
This should be his interview: Ask Pulisic and McKennie if it is OK to interview for the job. If yes... Advance to the next round of interviews... Convince a select panel of BS posters that he will pick the right rosters for each and every game (one USMNT N&A poster, one YA poster and one MLS N&A poster, with each poster selected by the ranking mod for the respective forum) Advance to the next round of interviews... Beat Bolivia and Ireland, play well against France. Advance to next round of interviews... Beat Mexico and play well against Brazil. Advance to next round of interviews... Beat England or Italy and play well against the other... Advance to the next round of interviews... Convince Siebatcheu, Tillman and any other dual-national of interest to play for the USMNT (If they have not already been convinced) Hired (subject to BS USMNT N&A thread vote)
“I hate using the word interim; I’m the men’s national team soccer coach until they tell me I’m not,” Dave Sarachan..... barf in my mouth
