Away to the Toon after an interesting night in Russia, hopefully we get away with a nice, comfortable away team and keep this beautiful streak running. Auba and Laca to score 3 each, which Jonjo Shelvey to get a red card after Jack provokes him into punching Mike Ashley. Its the only way to top last week.

    For the Americans
    April 15, 8:30am: @ Newcastle (Premier League) - NBCSN

    For the Canadians
    April 15, 8:30am: @ Newcastle (Premier League) - Sportsnet

    For the Australians
April 15, 10:30pm: @ Newcastle (Premier League) - On the telly at Vicky Pattison's house, because all the TVs in Australia seem to only have the Commonwealth Games on.

Do we hate Jonjo Shelvey now?

St. James Park could be just as challenging as Russia just was. But I continue to believe we're at our best when we're on the front foot, when we're more direct, when we show aggressiveness and urgency to both to win win back the ball and then attack.

One tricky decision is rotation. Since we don't have Europa this coming week, will he be tempted to play many of the lads from Thursday? Let's hope he sees the diminished priority of the league now and let's a bunch of 2nd-teamers have a chance on Tyneside.

You have to balance rotation with the need for match practice. You don't want the first team to just have two weeks off and get a bit rusty. I would say play mostly the first team this weekend and less of them next weekend.

I would imagine Ramsey will be missing with that cut to his leg and probably Koscielny so as not to aggravate his ongoing achilles problem. Bring in Xhaka (if recovered) and Chambers for those two. If Wilshere has a knock that limits the options even more. Nelson might get another run out in one of the wide attacking midfield positions.

None of Ramsey, Koscielny, Özil or Monreal should start any more league matches at this point. Özil and Monreal can be on the bench, though. Bellerin should probably get a rest, as well.

I'd say that Bellerin shouldn't start any more league matches either.

Sixteen years ago in this fixture, one of the best goals you will ever see, in any league, in any country, was scored by our god...

THAT ranks right up there with David Seaman's save on that thread I put up early this morning as one of the all-time greatest Arsenal moments (and goals scored) in our most recent history.

Now we finally know that Bergie didn't purposely try to put on some of that magic from Arsene Wenger's Magic Hat, it just came out that way, but MY GOD it sure looks gorgeous no matter what angle you look at it from. :) ABSOLUTELY SICK!!!

How is that even a question?

Wonder what odds I can get on Danny Pelebeck replicating that. The man with baby giraffe legs is currently on a bit of a tear.

Ramsey would get you better odds, after that damn near godlike finish against CSKA. :)

Yeah but Ramsey doesn't have any impairments like Welbeck. Well, except for the fact he is Welsh.

OK. Our 1-0 lead doesn't last long... Shelvey equalizes and then 70 seconds later on OG by El Neny puts us down 1-2. WTF!

We look a bit slow today. That FK against Willock though, utter trash. What are the odds they score off this.

Chambers getting in the right spots but oh boy he couldn't hit the side of a barn from 6 feet the way he is going today.

OK so my little April fools joke to the vacuum was only 30-40% correct. But we let them back into the game in a big way. The passes of our second-teamers seem nervous, or at least unsharp. We need to fix this.

Well we ARE wearing our blue kits, so does that tell you something about the mindset of this club this season (at least in EPL play)? We're going ALL-IN on winning the Europa League this year so that's why Arsene Wenger thinks it's OK to bag this season and just go through the motions and hope nobody gets injured.

.....and although the away strip looks pretty damn good on our guys it sure has cursed us this season, I believe we are still winless while donning them on the road.

We have won games away in the blue, but not many. I wrote a list up somewhere of them, its basically we beat BATE away in blue at the very start of our Europa League season, and we beat AYYY SEE Meeyan in the blue as well.

Burnley are 2 pts away from pushing us down to 7th. You'd think that'd be some motivation to our players, right?

That last stat says it all about Rafa Benitez and also about football spending craziness. We paid more for Auba than they paid for their entire XI. And the score is 1-1 in the 60th minute. Let's see if we get any return for those extra millions we've tossed around.

There’s no creativity in the mf. Finally AW sees that in the 68’ and brings in Welbeck. Won’t fix the issue though.
