Yep, it will be a different game. You will be better and I expect us to be sharper. There were lots of bad passes that shouldn't have been missed on our side.
Lol. Shame about Rafinha too who has struggled with injuries past 2 years. Hope he plays well enough to earn more playing time at Inter.
Tite team has some questions marks as well. We definitely look to be in good shape heading into the tournament. I think Arthur getting called will solve one of those problems IMO. The second is Alves if I’m an opposition coach, I’m targeting him all day. We clearly need a capable backup which Danilo or Fagner is not.
I think Tite will used this midfield for the top teams that can threaten from the counter moreso the top contenders. When we are in trouble or against a team that will mostly bunker I see Coutinho playing in midfield.
Gauchos won the friendly after 2014 and thus won the Düsseldorf cup. You just won the Berlin cup against a B+ squad. And the "Brazil cant beat us" thing if it ever existed was gone after the olympic final in 2016. The friendlies and qualifiers are the only games DFB is making money so having top notch opponents for testing players and selling tickets are the only reasons this game took place in the first place. Lahm said before the game he wouldnt want to play this game for exactly this reason. It's meaningless
Meaningless or not, love the victory. Great defensive shape in the second half. Jesus' form is a worry though. Hope he gets sorted out soon. The miss passes will be taken care of with more practice prior to the WC. With Neymar, this is definitely a better side than 2010.
"Düsseldorf cup, Berlin cup." For a fan of the team who is the current World Cup champion, you sure sound salty and full of excuses. Take the loss like a man. In 2014 we Brazilians were discouraged but accepted the results, and moved on. Auf Wiedersehen bis Russland.
Guess it is a good day for Brazil... Small losses or draws are great prior to a tournament. Keeps the expectations lower and the team knows it still has a lot work to do. Today Löw tested some players. Four of five spots in the team should still be up for grabs. What I did not like is that none of the second string players really has showed up. You get chances - you have to take them.
Im taking it as manly as it can be. Im here telling you exactly what whats been said before the game. No need for excuses
Indeed. Your team is in a position it can afford to lose a friendly like this given the consistency it has demonstrated in the past 29-30 matches before your confrontations with Spain and with us. I do stand by what I wrote earlier - your team's management may have seen this as a chance to test players, and rightfully so in FIFA friendly matches. But the players themselves, who showed skill and resolve, did not want to lose this game.
I was hoping for a draw to avoid the "clima de ja ganhou", that we usually get from winning Confed Cup. Are expectations higher among the normie fan after this win? hopefully not.
I mean, no Neymar and Jesus looks rusty. Zagueiros and Willian / Coutinho looked good. Paulinho not so much. Douglas Costa likely earned himself a spot on the team after these 2 games. Lot of work to be done. Hopefully our rusty players get better toward end of European season.
There will be no "clima". Zero chance. Tite would know how to control that. Not that this win was that impressive anyways. It was a pretty even game overall. We were better in the 1st half and they were better in the latter part.
Douglas Costa coming out from the bench is reminding me of how Denilson was used in the 90s team where he didn't have a finished game but had speed and did very well with the ball on his feet, driving defenders to him and freeing up the other players.
While we can say that Brazil has learnt to play without neymar, there's no doubt that with the inclusion of neymar, the performance of the same team will go a notch up. His mere presence on the pitch can make a huge difference. Couple of things which I saw yesterday was : 1. Thiago silva was very impressive IMO 2. I noticed the lean or lightweight Brazilian players especially those playing upfront got dispossessed frequently against the tall and sturdy Germans 3. The Germans passes / receiving were much more speedy and accurate than us IMO...
I watched the last two games against Russia and Germany and I am worried about Marcelo and Alves at FB. Friendlies are the best time to try out upcoming players, give a chance for a star to be born. There is no way Coutinho should get in before Douglas Costa and Willian and with Neymar coming back we may be overloaded in some positions. I still think Coutinho only plays well when the team is in control, otherwise he gets knocked off the ball too easily and makes bad decisions in attacking situations. I would like to see Willian Jose get a shot before Firmino, he is better at holding the ball up and leading the line. We had some great crosses coming in from Willian and Douglas and if we need to vary our style the Jose will be a better target man. I would love to see a 17 Vinicius get a chance.
Douglas Costa before coutinho ? He has only speed but coutinho has vision and can pierce any defence. But still I think its Willian who should start based on current form. Neymar Jesus willian upfront. Coutinho from bench.
Also we need plan B in case Jesus gets injured(so young and so injury prone) I think the false 9 may need a rethink!!
Yes, if you look at Coutinhos performances he only did well against lesser teams in the Premier League, and he is very patchy at Brazil level IMO. Easy to mark and predictable. Should be a sub for sure.
