Caleta-Car, Kalaic, Benkovic... Some good CB talents coming as well.

In the NT...he was quite mehhh for a long period. The kind of guy who talked a lot with referees, but was too lazy to send in a proper free kick for years. In the club- yes, a living legend. TBF, his last big stage with the NT motivated him for several truly captain-like games. And hen he gets busted on doping charges. Eh Dario, Dario...

Generally, I don't think Croatia is the best environment for the 2 Koreans that came to Dinamo, in terms of learning how to be a professional player and a law-abiding human being.

    I think he's more of a fullback.

Started out as a right midfielder. His crossing was his biggest asset when he played well. For this reason, if I were the manager of South Korean NT, I would put Yeom Ki-Hun in the first 11, if using any tall striker. Skill is skill, even in old age.

They probably get drunk too often, judging by the behavior of some in Dinamo

Off topic, but I might be coming to Korea to find a job, since financial crime and corruption are actually looked upon as bad things in Korea, unlike here. I cannot get a job simply because I don't have any relatives in high places, and am not in any political party. Tax evaders (Modrić is one too) and bribers (Dinamo's owner) are looked upon as OK people here.:(

Those are fighting words here in bsk. Ykh is a top 3 technical player in the korean pool, and that alone imo should get him a nod in the korean wc squad.

But starting 11? Not sure. If we use him as more of a central midfielder and if someone is injured, give that doofus looking mofo a shot. But not starting 11 and not as a winger. Too slow for the international level.

He pretty much says exactly what I thought during and after the match.

It's because the other CB that should be ahead of him plays like this now after abandoning his European career to chase money in China.

I was thinking more of a wide midfielder that holds position, allowing a full back to overlap at times, or simply moving in a way to make himself available for a pass, and if he's free when receiving one, a devastating cross can follow.

Problem is we do not have a left back that can go forward and overlap. Not kim js, not park jh

At this point our defensive hopes are in the hands of CKH, if he can get Jeonbuk's backline to gel, since STY seems more interested in playing around with formations and turning a blind eye to JHS than actually working on defensive organization.

Who'd be Korea's best CB pairing? Frankly, it's not an exaggeration to say that they're all mediocre talents at best.

But from what I'm seeing, the KNT has had fundamental problems performing basic football moves: maintaining line formations, man-marking, and of course, set pieces. It's pretty sad to see a team with talent not perform to its peak. However, that's down to individual players as much as it is up to tactics. It's going to take a bonafide miracle for the KNT to already make it out of this group. But I don't think it's impossible.

Korea's got a lot of issues to fix, and it's not just personnel. Changing personnel gives a side flexibility but doesn't fix the issues I outlined above. If we happen to concretely fix really any of these problems, I see Korea not being an easy team to put away when it comes to WC play.

Damn, it’s gonna be a long summer... we looked pathetic against Poland, who’s not exactly firing on all cylinders. Defense is a joke, too many players can’t even complete a pass and are afraid of having the ball, and way too slow in thought and movement. Ki and Son are being wasted. :(

The positive thing is that we can def score few goals against Sweden and Mexico. Should be fun games to watch as a neutral.

But we were able to score only when the Poles took off their foot off the pedal...

Will Sweden and Mexico do that in a world cup match (esp. when goal difference can make the difference between bye-bye or r.16)?

well...we weren't able to score before beacuse we played with a shitty line up. I'm convinced that if we play 4-4-2 with Son and Hwang up front, we can cause lots of trouble for their defense. But we def can't score against Germany lol.

I actually think we could score a goal against Germany. But will concede many.

I’m not letting a couple late goals against Poland fool me. Our attack was non-existent for 80+ min. Plus with our defense, we’ll be shipping out plenty of goals for the opposition.

No doubt Son will be desperate to score against the krauts, but I wouldn’t classify his chances of scoring as any better or worse than against Sweden or Mexico. We’ll hardly have possession, and he’ll be quite isolated up top. A striker without any service is well, you know...
