Most likely Turkey, Germany hosted World Cup with Austria not too long ago, moreover Turkey is big pontential market to exploit, no way Germany is gonna get it
I thought UEFA decided to have the tournament played in various cities across Europe, not just one or two countries. I think it was a great idea to have the whole of Europe host it.
Only for 2020. Mainly due to Turkay pulling out of bidding for 2020 in order to focus on Istanbul bidding to host the 2020 Olympics (which they lost to Seoul). Turkey's withdrawal left Azerbijan as the only other candidate for 2020 and UEFA/Platini wasn't having any of that. Thus, the idea of Pan-Euro 2020. Back to normal for 2024, which this thread is about.
The debate over where the Euro 2024 should be held has taken a turn on Monday, when Ozil and Gündogan met and posed with Erdogan in London. The AKP immediately released the pictures on their official twitter feed. The vote on the presidency in the summer is seen by many as a big step on the road of the country to becoming a quasi-dictatorship. The open support for Erdogan in this critical campaign phase by players representing the German national team and thereby the country and its commitment to democratic principles, has received so much criticism that even Jogi Löw and DFB president Grindel felt they needed to reprimand this conduct during the announcement of the Germany squad for the 2018 World Cup on Tuesday. This has in turn drawn criticism from he Turkish football association, stating that this was a play to harm the Turkish chances in the vote for the EURO 2024. Experts in Germany feel that Germany must be very careful in the run up to the vote not to overplay the hints at the poor treatment of democratic principles in Turkey. Out of the 17 voting members of the UEFA executive committee, seven can be counted as being Eastern Europeans, who frequently do not much care for criticism about the treatment of humanitarian or democractic principles, rather feeling lectured (in particular in Poland and Hungary). It will be interesting to see how this debate plays out. I believe that the attendance of the world cup games in Russia in the summer will play a decisive role. I'm sure that the Russians will be able to fill their stadiums, but if it becomes noticeable that there are hardly any traveling fans from outside the country due to the political situation, the executive committee may see that this could be an issue for Turkey in 2024 as well.

That was Switzerland. Also 18 years between hosting is a big enough gap, imo. I mean, it would be too close to host the same tournament twice within 20 years but not 2 different tournaments.
