I don't know what the Germany team management is thinking......But if was German coach i would have gone for winning this match as well....Its not whether you are taking friendlies seriously or not , it's about crushing your opponents everytime so as to pulverize their confidence.. If Brazil can win this they will surely go to the world cup with a different mindset altogether. If i was the German coach, i wouldn't have given Brazil even a window of opportunity so that everything we take the field we have that massive psychological advantage that 'Brazil can't beat us"......In football or even in a battlefield what you think about your opponents is all which matters
How many times has Argentina beat Germany in a friendly just to lose to them in the games that really matter. Germany used friendlies as a means to test players and tactics.
This means very little in the grand scheme of things. A win is good, but doesn't change things much. A bad loss would probably hurt though.
I agree, a bad lose would be more of a blow mentally. Germany looking at the bigger picture an it seems Tite is doing the same.
Tite doesn't want to test any longer - not in this match. He wants Brazil to win and given Brazil has played a tactically solid first half, he's adhering to the American maxim "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Tite should test more players against stronger opposition that why this friendly is for. A win is nice but it doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.
but we should definitely test out 4th zagueiro and firmino. kind of pointless too having Willian Jose called up.
willian and coutinho were outstanding. jesus needs more playing time to get back into form, but happy he got a goal and a decent shot.
Okay. Well done. I'm intrigued by this Brazil team under Titè. They seem the most efficient they've been since 2010. See you in the WC. Our paths may yet cross again.
Your team was undermanned and you Germans may not take friendlies seriously, but your players were definitely regarding this fixture as one they did not want to lose. I'm glad we won as we demonstrated tactical solidity, and the emotional comfort of defeating the defending World Cup champions notwithstanding, Brazil did quite well against an organized, efficient, and cohesive squad which repeatedly demonstrated highly cohesive passing and very agile, fast players. It was a friendly, but I'm pleased with the performance as well as with the result.
and i think the key difference is that this brazil team has more depth. good options off the bench in midfield and forward. with the suspension of ramires, injury to the all-important elano, and felipe melo red card, brazil was doomed against Holland. we definitely could've used a Ronaldinho or in form Ganso in 2010. And maybe some luck. Oh well....
