At the end of the day, we could also say that if the offside situation (long ball by KMJ + SHM's 1vs1) was not disallowed, it could've turn out completely differently. As LYP and @Seol Korea said, it wasn't a foul by KSW.
Legit I just want to see this team play without Kim Shinwook and Jang Hyunsoo against Poland. Just to see how it's like. That'll be the real test. Hopefully KSW playing 90 mins mean he won't play against Poland.
If I was going to select XI against Poland it'll be: 4-4-2 (diamond)/4-3-3 Son Heungmin-Kwon Changhoon Koo Jacheol Park Jooho-Lee Jaesung Ki Sungyueng Kim Minwoo-Hong Jeongho-Kim Minjae-Lee Yong/Choi Chulsoon Cho Hyunwoo it can also transform into 4-4-2 flat if needed Son Heungmin-Koo Jacheol Park Jooho-Lee Jaesung-Ki Sungyueung-Kwon Changhoon very fluid Also we can add either Hwang Heechan or Lee Geunho as supersub to add extra energy and speed.
I wouldn't start KJC as he has caught a cold. 4-3-3/4-4-2 like today: Son Heungmin-Hwang Heechan-Kwon Changhoon Lee Jaesung-Ki Sungyong-Park Jooho Kim Minwoo-Hong Jeongho-Kim Minjae-Choi Chulsoon Cho Hyunwoo subs: 45th Koo Jacheol in Kwon Changhoon out 60th Lee Keunho in Hwang Heechan out 75th Yeom Kihun in Lee Jaesung out 75th Lee Changmin in Son Heungmin out 80th Yun Young Sun in Ki Sungyong out (full defense) South Korea 1-0 Poland
He's misrepresenting Shin's quote. Shin basically said that he played Son in various areas because Son's flexible and capable of playing anywhere (left, right, center, etc.) but if Son's tightly marked (inferring that Shin doesn't have the tactical nous to mitigate it), Son will have to rely on his individual skills.
I don't think that quote is too off the mark: http://sports.news.naver.com/kfootball/news/read.nhn?oid=117&aid=0003027958 Is Son good enough to be a playmaker? Is that even his role as a striker? But at the end of the day, with a player in form like Son and still unable to beat an unheralded and an unrated team like N. Ireland says a lot...and that is we are effed. LOL
heck no. his touches arent good/consistent enough. He needs room to do his thing, he doesnt have the ability to create some room for himself to pull the trigger when he is marked (like robben, neymar, salah, etc). He needs alot of support.
While I agree with Lee Young-pyo's points, the bigger issue of our defensive line's weakness is because of Jang Hyun-soo's continuous fcuk ups, he literally makes a small problem become even bigger. Again, it's beyond me as to why this repeat offender is still relevant to the national team, or why Shin Tae-yong keeps bothering to select him, I mean what's even the point when the dude doesn't even show up and bother to defend only to end up panicking 100% of the fcuking time on the pitch upon the opposition's pressure. Is this some sort of a fcuking sick joke/fetish of Shin Tae-yong's or some shit? I swear I have never seen such a tool who calls himself a professional continuously fcuk up so bad and still manage to get a tap on the wrist. Instead of trying to understand the issues and trying learn from his mistakes in order to improve as a player, he doesn't do anything about it at all. Shin Moon-sun couldn't have said it any better during the EAFF E-1 Football Championships last year, Jang Hyun-soo has some serious mental issues that needs to be looked into and further analyzed because the continuous drop in lack of mental discipline is costing us. I sincerely hope he gets injured against Poland on Tuesday.
Struggled against N. Ireland. Lack of ideas in the final third. Shaky at the back. If we keep playing this way we're going to get rekt by Germany, Mexico, Sweden lol. I hope we don't get embarrassed at the WC. Sigh
Korea looked toothless today. Looking at the highlight video, now I understand the constant sh*t posting about KSW. The man wasted so many chances lol.
Maybe but many bad decisions were taken overall on the offensive phase. Even if KSW played awfully yesterday, he's not responsible of all the failures. edit : We shouldn't forget that an imaginary off side was whistled, without it we would have led 2-0.
20th min: LJS wants to kick KSW out of the squad. Seriously, he should've shot instead of passing. + HHC's pass was nice
Wanyama is a terrific defensive player, and he can single-handedly make a team look defensively solid- that allows Son to be quite forward-minded. I know Wanyama from his Celtic days. Absolute rock at the back of midfield, or in the defense. Since Korea doesn't have a player that could cover an entire side like this, I think 4-2-3-1 is a bad idea.
while the final scoreline puts a downer on the whole match, most of us were very positive about the first half. i saw a lot of attacking movement and individual runs that i haven't seen from the KNT in years. and actual well timed through passes, as if the players have some semblance of chemistry. apart from that, the timeless KNT themes of revolving-door defense and poor quality in the final third just manifested themselves again.
accept that the team is weak. only half a year ago korea just barely scraped past the qualifiers. look at the squad. you can make all the inclusions exclusion you think are necessary and it will still be a poor team. with defensive discipline and some luck the team is still good enough to get results in the world cup but unless you are into disappointments lower your expectations
