I, for one, am hoping he tears it up out there and leads us to MLS Cup championship.

At this point i want a ccl title. We've win enough mls cups. Given his very short stay i don't think he'll get a chance to get it one.

I won't know if I'm happy until he has played his first game in a Galaxy shirt. Meanwhile I think we need to put a bit more effort into the title for this thread -- 'Zlatan' is just too tame for this guy.

It's always that middle part that's the tricky part....

So what would success be for this guy? Twitter seems to think he will be coming off the bench in the 75th minute, but the hype says he will be a failure if he doesn't lead the league in scoring...

You mean in the context of him being a successful signing for the Galaxy? Staying healthy and competing strongly for the golden boot.

I wonder how we're planning to use him? He was most effective for United playing up top. His brand of trickery and high-risk moves was an asset in and around the oppositions box, but made him an increasing liability the further he got from goal.

He got some flak on the United forum for not doing enough in terms of chance-creation and assists, but if you look at his stats, he actually created quite a lot for his teammates. Runs of poor finishing from Martial and Rashford obscured this aspect, so he could probably play in a partnership with Kamara, but I feel like he'd be better as the focal point of the attack.

This is why I was skeptical about his signing after we brought in Kamara. Hopefully we can make it work.

4 - 4 - 2 With Zlatan and Kamara up top. Gio drops back, cuz he sucks at scoring anyway.

EDIT: Who takes the free kicks? Gio loves taking them (he sucks) but I think if he wants to take too many Zlatan will punch him in the face.

    Zlatan score freekicks.

Would you have Gio on the wing or in the middle? Because I'd prefer Kitchen and JDS in the middle. Likely in a diamond with Kitchen deeper.

Would you have Gio over Lletget, Boateng or Alessandrini?

We are so loaded on paper... Reality has been different so far.

Could we sell Gio to a Mexican club?

I'd have Gio on the bench and make him come into games and prove he should start again.

    --------------oLA-------zLAtan
    Lletget-------------------------Alessandrini
    --------------JDS------Kitchen

That's our 6 best players. Then Gio and Boateng as the first subs. Plus between call-ups and injuries and keeping Zlatan protected from too many games and turf, there will be plenty of games where Gio starts and has his chance to prove his worth again.

This made coke come out of my nose. Funniest thing I've read in a long time. The G's can't even make it to the USOC final.

OK. I watched the video. I'm officially excited to see what the Zlatan can do. Any guy who is trying to quote Julius Caesar, is a guy I can root for. It Would have been better if he delivered it in Latin. Veni Vidi Vici.

BTW Gerrard was more Veni. Vidi. Vetui.

How about MLS Cup and then Champions League and then Club World Cup, and then a 100 foot bronze statue of the Zlatan placed on the restored grass berm? Not big enough?

That'll do but it would take 3 years. He's only gracing us with his presence for 2.

IF we play two up top with oLA and zLAtan, then Ola might be the real beneficiary in this move. He’s a true goal poacher and Zlatan is going to command a lot of attention from opposing defenses and should really stretch back lines and give Ola lanes that he has shown in the past two years to be very talented at exploiting...

IF the two of them can learn to play together, Ola should score a lot of goals. Think about how well Zardes benefited from running alongside Keane, except Ola is a much better finisher than Zardes.
