You mean dani alves will be benched ? Unlikely..Moreover we can never say that we are well protected with alves / marcelo / sandro. They are extremely attacking CB and RB's. When they go for attack they will always leave behind acres of space at the back to be exploited by the opposition....
Where did I say or imply that D Alves should be benched? Look, for left back, Marcelo and A Sandro are it. Both are better than any alternative, full stop. In Brazil, the full-backs attack. Sorry, that's the way it is.
Ya i know that's the way Brazil plays...But i think aa more conventional LB & RB would have made the team more balanced......I don't like the idea of all 10 players going for attack ( except the GK ).. In the jungle, even predators leave somebody behind to look after their own kids to protect them from other predators ( when they go for killing )..
William José and Rodrigo Caio have been released from the team's delegation because the Russian federation vetoed the idea of 14 players on the bench. As a result, Tite's ability to test as many players as he wanted will be curtailed.
My goodness, Russia is awful. They are not going to make it out of the first round if this is the best they can do.
D. Alves is a liability!! He lost the ball 3 times!! Now you see why we should play 3 in the back? A 35-year-old right back who will most likely play a role of us getting knocked out in the 2nd round!!
And G. Jesus is still rusty, maybe we should bring on another striker and switch to a 4-4-2!! Russia is catching us badly on the counters!! If they had better finishing they would be winning now
It would strike me as out of character if Tite had not by now noticed that Daniel Alves, however talented and successful he is, can compromise the team's defense. It reminds me a bit of Maicon in 2014; leading up to 2010, he was a thoroughbred marching down lanes and outmuscling anybody trying to mark him. But in 2014, I painfully remember him trying to hustle and bustle while Dutch players, faster and more agile, showed just how he had aged. Tite is a student of the game and a detail-oriented manager. Hopefully he has a plan for dealing with Daniel Alves' vulnerabilities.
He'll make the squad, but we need a better emergency option. I'd bring in Fabinho at this point, even though he has been playing full time DM, but could play RB in a pinch.
