We're long overdue for a kit change anyway, so I think we'll get something before the holidays. I for one don't want to see us playing in the current set of kits ever again. And even though sales will be anemic, there will still be some interest. I would guess Nike and US Soccer will start soon on a new marketing campaign centered around CP10, the new young players, new coach (hopefully), new this, new that, new everything. I'm not saying it's going to effective and at this point I'm not excited about anything with our program (except seeing Arena and Gulati out), but they're going to do something. Maybe the holidays are too soon but I would expect something in the new year when they start to play what will be the most insignificant friendlies played in a long time. I don't know if we'll play other also-rans or be a tune up squad for sides actually going to Russia, but I expect us to be in new kits by then.
I wouldn't put it past Nike to use the mourning period as an excuse to make a 100% black kit. Remember #redtotoe earlier this year? Well get ready for #backinblack
We just had a black kit (replaced by the all red). Nike will do something different to sell more jerseys. Might I suggest we deserve a wimpy pink kit?
Pink is often associated with baby girls. I did not intend to offend anyone; I meant it as a joke. Perhaps in poor taste. I retract my statement.
Before like 1920 or so, pink was actually considered to be a boy's color. Always thought that was kind of funny. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/when-did-girls-start-wearing-pink-1370097/
That away kit is maybe the best thing I have ever seen for the US! It's absolutely awesome. I was going to skip this kit but if it looks as good in real life as in this leaked picture I gotta get it. Damn you USMNT....
The away blue is available with at least 3 vendors on dh gate. No I won't paste a URL, google be your friend.
Update: https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/u...7146558/usa-usmnt-uswnt-2018-jersey-home-away Accurate facebook comment from one Christopher Harris: "These 2018 jerseys will always be remembered as the "What If Kits"... What if the US had qualified and they could have worn them in Russia."
On the bright side, if you flip them on their side, you can actually see a visual representation of our qualifying chances decreasing throughout the Hex.
And beneath the tag is a microscopic inscription of the essay from Michael Bradley's application to the Fletcher School.
I said it before the debacle in Trinidad and Tobago and will say it until the end of my life on this earth. With the Keeper and back four issues we had to deal with this cycle we more than likely would have gone three and out and been humiliated like most of the European soil World Cups we have played in. So I am kind of glad we did not qualify. As for the jerseys, I like the blue one. I will wait and see how the white one looks in person to judge that one. But we probably would have lost in Russia in either one of these shirts.
Gilberto Santa Rosa, Gran Combo, Niche, Los Van Van, Oscar D'Leon, etc. Aren't I down? In fact, I'm so down I could hang out with Bradley. Seriously, though, I have to stock up on the new Colombia gear. They're back to the old condor wings. Man, I'm so glad that I don't have to see Bradley and Altidore in the new US kit. Talk about a silver lining.
