Someone was talking about ----------Kamara-------- Lletget---JDS--Alessandrini ------Kitchen---Carrasco--- Not terrible. Two issues, would Kitchen and Carrasco be overly defensive, and is JDS creative enough? But given our back line, overly defensive is not necessarily a bad thing. And I could see JDS playing more the way Michael Bradley did in the Netherlands. Runs around, holds possession, come in late to the box. Bradley picked up a lot of goals that way and I could see JDS doing the same.
Given the field turf, I wonder if we'll be extra cautious with our injured/recovering from injury players. Could imagine: ---------Kamara-------- Ema-------JDS-------Husidic ------Carasco--Kitchen--- Which is pretty gross. Then bring on RA, SL and CP if they are fit enough to contribute. Do we have any kids on the roster that could take Husidic's spot above? Would that be a spot for Efren Alverez to get minutes or is that no where near happening?
My bad...I thought we played this weekend and the bye week was the next. With 12 days till the match, it's too early for line up predictions and maybe some of our injured players can feature from the start after all...
No JDS for this game: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/03/14/jonathan-dos-santos-carlos-vela-called-mexico-friendlies With injuries and suspensions and now call-ups, I hope Alessandrini is ready to go: --------------------oLA Boateng------Lletget--------Alessandrini ----------Kitchen-----Carrasco Romney--Skjelvik---Steres--Feltscher -----------------Bingham
I'll be watching this on a beach somewhere in Hawaii I'm getting married this sunday, and going on my honeymoon to hawaii. Stopping back in LA as well for a few days! Going to go to Disneyland.
Interesting quote from Sigi: “For Gyasi as well, it's an opportunity. I think Gregg's already come out and said he's going to play him at center forward. So we'll see how that goes for him, but I wish Gyasi luck. Their system is a little bit different, where it's based a little more on attacking through the flanks with speed and then getting service in the box, so he'll get his opportunities.” I wonder how he would describe his LA system? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/03/15/sigi-schmid-gyasi-zardes-hot-start-columbus-im-happy-him
When we get possession we pretty much just cross our fingers and hope something good happens—at least advance the ball out of the back 4 without giving it away
"How can I have a system, when with Gio, we are essentially always playing a man down. Heck its worse than a man down because he gets in the way. It a shame because he really is a talented player. If the damn bean counters would let me, I would bench him in hopes of awaking his fire but they won't. I sure hope he either goes away or decides to play after the World Cup, because right now we are screwed."
One more injury - it appears JDS is out of the Mexican team with an injury. No word on the severity. Tom Marshall @mexicoworldcup 10m10 minutes ago Jonathan Dos Santos, Javier Aquino and Jurgen Damm out of the Mexico squad with injuries. Oswaldo Alanis brought in. #eltrieng
Saw on twitter someone say it was a hamstring injury suffered in a friendly played on Friday vs. ucsb. Isn’t that a lot of hamstring issues this year?
I'm back to game one's wishlist: please stop bleeding goals. The end. Thank you. and, uh..... go Galaxy.
Has there been a change in the training staff or a change in the training regimen? Injuries could be a matter of luck, but it could also be a failure of preparation. No way for us to know but Sigi needs to be looking at that question.
