I won't declare it closed until we win the dang thing but there certainly has been a lot of progress.
They were definitely rattled, Tigres just ran out of time. thats how the ball rolls. good night for MLS teams tonight
Maybe things will be easier once MLS teams get over the hump. Their anxiousness in crunch time right now is palpable though. Shouldn't have been near that hard, but they were playing on their back foot, couldn't clear cleanly, were indecisive of responsibilities, made suspect back passes, and weren't exactly clinical on the opposing doorstep but they got a little help. Otherwise losing that way would have been a crusher.
Univision talked about Vanney for USMNT. Coaching record 2014 2-6-2 2015 49 points, 6th place, knockout round 2016 53 points, 3rd place, lost mls cup final 2017 63 points, supporters shield, mls cup win 2018 CCL semifinals I realize this belongs in a different thread but since they said it I figured I’d mention it
Yeah, while TFC may be able to hold their own at BMO, playing Club America at 7200 ft could get ugly.
TFC can clean up some of their passing as they get a few more games into the season. They should be able to perform better. But America is better team than Tigres. Soooo, lets hope for another good series there.
maybe Tuca shouldn't have played first team vs Tijuana on Sat... but so damn close for one helluva emotional rollercoaster of a game
Once TFC and NYRB became MLS standard-bearers I guess other crazy stuff was bound to happen. Great to see an MLS team finally hold on by the skin of their teeth. in an away game like that
So much for the naysayers saying all three MLS teams would get bounced. You negative Nancys were being so petty, you actually had me rooting for Toronto tonight. I hate all of you.
Nice job by MLS tonight. Hope we can do our job tomorrow against Seattle and have 2 MLS-LMX semifinals. With Chivas and America in there Concacaf would get crazy about the ratings this edition would have.
Getting two away goals seems more unlikely to me. It really shows how unlikely the result was today. A crazy own goal and a Gio shot from Gio.
