Anyone have kids and have a leapfrog? My nephew is 1 1/2 and looking to get him something for xmas. He sprints to my iMac and iPad when he comes over and trys to steal the iPhone as well. Just wondering if anyone has one and likes it and thinks it's good. They are like 80 bucks now. I was thinking of just getting a kindle fire but the leapfrog seems to be made for kids so prob a better option.

Probably a little too late, but yes, Leapfrog is great and the games are educational so it is a double win. It depends a little bit on how old is he, probably best ages are 4 to 9, if he is older or younger probably he won't enjoy it.

Alguien sabe de una forma rapida y economica de convertir DVDs para subirlos al cloud? Creo que VUDU ofrece un servicio por $2 por DVD, pero quisiera alternativas...

You can get the HD version for 5 bucks. Or you can just download them from bit torrent sites like kat.ph

IT takes a very very long time to convert dvd to your computer then upload them to the cloud.

The best method is Vudu at Walmart for 2 bucks for Standard def dvd or blu ray to HD. I prefer iTunes but sucks that not all the movies don't come with HD digital copies for those of us who have tvs bigger than 40 inches. Even on a tablet standard def still sucks

I have a ton of DVDs and I don't have the space to store them anymore. And time is another thing that I don't have, I'm guessing that I'll start little and then add a few more titles as I can pay for it.

I have a 47" TV and the quality of SD is decent (don't know if it the BR player has upconvert - I think it does, and the 120Hz refreshing rate is also a big help).

I do have a xbox and a surface but I never tried to do either; it may be possible but I never really looked into it. Pro versions of the surface may be more flexible. Sorry~

Congress just dealt a serious blow to consumer rights by voting to repeal the FCC's broadband privacy protections. Abolishing these rules opens the door for companies like Comcast, Verizon, and Time Warner to monetize your personal data and expose private communications while restricting your options for recourse.

If President Trump signs S.J. Res. 34 into law, big Internet providers will have new powers to harvest your personal information in extraordinarily creepy ways. Your web browsing, your search history, what apps you use, even medical information is at risk. And while EFF will keep fighting tirelessly for your rights in the courts, in state legislatures, and in Washington,

EFF’s decades of expertise in law, technology, and activism lets us create comprehensive security guides and analyses, develop privacy-enhancing tools like Privacy Badger and HTTPS Everywhere, and mobilize the public when civil liberties are in danger. Lawmakers will only address privacy rights when the public demands it. Together we're a voice they can't ignore.

Opera Browser has a built-in VPN (virtual private network), this helps to encrypt your data and all that will be seen is an encrypted transmission, they won't (if ISPs are monitoring your traffic) won't be able to tell the sites you visit, the things you buy online, and won't, in theory, be able to send you relevant ads about your searches) I say in theory because they is always an exception to every rule, that exception here is that you are trusting Opera and the people who ran the opera browser to not do that say thing ISPs are trying to do with this new law they hope will get passed.

I have been using Opera for a while, it has a built-in VPN called SurfEasy, and encrypts your data but also hides your IP, when I use chrome my public IP is in Colombia of course, but under opera runnning the VPN my IP shows up as being in Canada (Opera is from Canada and they have their servers in Canada, you can choose from various locations, Canada, US, Germany and a few others)

Along the same line, if you are tired of using google as your search engine, since they are doing the same thing, they monetize your search, they send you ads based on what you search, you can use Gyffu search engine (www.gyffu.com) its a search engine that dosen't spy on you, and the plus, created here in Armenia (https://gyffu.com/index/about)

    Not my browsing history!

Seriously... most people don't know how to hide isp, or know what isp means.... and I feel the average consumer like myself need to take an extra step to attempt to hide something, where in reality the government probably already knows about it. (Snowden comes to mind)

Are there any cord cutting options to watch caracol and RCN in the US without having to get the special Spanish package?

I basically pay $150 so my mom can watch novellas in 2 channels

You can subscribe to win sports. We did it with my brother and it worked from Mexico, not sure from the US but you can use VPN. I think it is like $20/month.

    https://winsportsonline.com/

It did not work when we tried streaming to the TV but worked well in a PC.

PS. All the US stream suppliers that carry sports suck according to reviews. I am big on sports and that is the only reason I pay like $170/month (internet and tv), movies, series, etc, you can stream or buy/rent.

We just got a 4k TV and the Winter Olympics looked beautiful. I also saw a EPL match but for some reason looked like a remastered old movie, the 1040 upgraded signal looked way better. I suspect that a few WC matches will be available in 4k.

On a related note, I have built a pretty solid movie collection in my PC and my next step is to buy/build a media server.

Yea sometimes see my mom do it that way. I mean what pisses me off is I pay for the HD package and the Spanish extra chancel that’s are more expensive are not in Hd when I go to Colombia they aren’t

Even the Hd fox sports channel is a werid widescreen view that says fox sports on the top and bottom of the image.

I use to pay for direct tv for them and the HD signal was slightly better but still pretty crappy.

I just learned about Fubo tv app so if she is cool with watching stuff on YouTube then I will just get this for my dad.

    https://www.fubo.tv/welcome/channels

Anyone try it? Says 17 a month
