I read three weeks which rules him out for the friendlies I think.

Btw, I’m liking what I’m hearing from Tite.

Neymar out for at least a month. So I'd imagine he will be out for the next 2 friendlies. Avoiding Germany again ... :whistling:

Probably for the best. Will force Brazil to figure out how to play without him. Firmino gets to start, and hopefully, he will be the starter up front with Neymar come the World Cup.

No, starter with Neymar is Gabriel Jesus.

Firmino has been great this season but I’m still waiting for him to show up for the national team. It’s no question Jesus should start over him.

Renato Augusto would lose his spot is my understanding.

Tough losing Neymar for potentially 2-3 months. Lot of rumors going on now about the severity of the injury. I Just really hope he is able to play in our warm-up friendlies right before the World Cup (the March ones are out of the question).

I am going to guess he wants the surgery to guarantee the WC but PSG president wants him to try and heal to play in a month . I can almost feel the tension .

He’ll only be out max 1 month.
    There’s no fracture.
    Thank God.

He is probably beholden to PSG, unfortunately. PSG is capable of winning against Madrid, but they would have to win 2-0 or 4-1, which will be very difficult. If they do it though, I can see Neymar being forced to return.

They have the league pretty much locked up, so hopefully they lose on aggregate and Neymar can just do his procedure in peace lol.

I can see him doing whatever he wants. I don’t think PSG has any power over this . What are they going to do ? Not pay him ? Sell him ?

What are the chances that David Luiz gets a national team call up?

He has a weird contract that is paid thru Qatar and not the team, if I recall.

I don't think he will play next week, but if PSG gets a positive result (since Madrid is beat up too), I can see him playing sooner. We'll see. Still a lot of rumors out there.

You must mean the rumor he stroke a deal to be Qatar WC ambassador for 200m. Nothing in the contract I'd imagine would stipulate that he can't make decisions about his own health. Even if it is to benefit his chances at the WC at the expense of some PSG games. If there is such a clause he would have sold his soul.

I could see him and it really slim at best getting on the additional 7 list but I think he’s pretty much blacklisted from the NT.

Is he blacklisted because of the 7-1?

It’s not a fact that he is blacklisted but I think he is. I think fans of the NT, Tite or people in the Brazilian media think David Luiz is a liability. Germany game was part of the reason but the Uruguay game at home was the second.

He's also hardly playing for Chelsea right now too. Brazil have too many other decent defenders as options anyways.

And Sideshow will be 31 and I would've loved to see him back playing for us at the World Cup, but I don't see it happening....maybe at next year's Copa America with a new coach!!

One thing I heard about the 3 month recovery period is that it could be the doctor trying to make himself look good . He knows it will take less time but by setting the recovery time to longer he will over deliver . lol
