I remember Quill as being a pretty good attacking player. DiGiamarino wasn't bad either. Both, if I recall, were limited by injuries. And that's Jay Heaps, right? I remember watching a college game of his where the players on the opposing team's defense on a corner kick were positively freaking out -- "Where's Heaps?!?! Who's got Heaps!?!?" -- because, as most folks here are probably too young to remember, he had "ups."
I'm not sure Heaps is in that picture. He wasn't Project 40, right?. Quill and Heaps do look a lot alike. In the upper left is Dunseth...............
That's Quill at lower left? Looked like Heaps. In my defense, I have not looked at a picture of Eric Quill in some years, which is not meant as an insult to Mr. Quill. It's just the way things have worked out for me.
Josh Lambo was signed by NFL Jacksonville, rather than NASL Jacksonville, because that's how life works out sometimes: The team will replace Myers with third-year kicker Josh Lambo, who signed with the Jaguars on Tuesday. http://www.firstcoastnews.com/sport...yers-sign-josh-lambo-to-replace-him/483758505
What crazy is that he made more money in his 2 NFL years than he made in his 4 MLS ones. Not saying I want the league minimum in MLS to be 400K just an observation.
Did we already know that Blake Wagner is a U17 assistant? https://www.ussoccer.com/us-under17-mens-national-team/coaching-staff Pretty sure it's "that" Blake Wagner. https://chargerssoccer.demosphere-secure.com/articles/black-watch-alum-blake-wagner
Greg Dalby moves: Penn State men's soccer coach Jeff Cook now has his full staff in place, with the recent naming of Greg Dalby and Tunde Ogunbiyi as assistant coaches. Assistant coach Owen Griffith will stay on staff for his third season and Destiny Rodriguez will enter her second season as the director of operations. Dalby comes to Penn State from Davidson College, where he was the lead assistant and recruiting coordinator since the 2015 campaign, while Ogunbiyi starts his role at Penn State after being the assistant coach at Drexel University during the 2017 season as well as serving as a goalkeeper coach for the Philadelphia Union Academy. http://news.psu.edu/story/506227/2018/02/19/dalby-and-ogunbiyi-named-mens-soccer-assistant-coaches
USL newcomer Indy has recently signed Jack McInearney and Soony Saad to go with Gene Starikov and Justin Braun. That seems like an interesting lower-division attack.
Agree.. I meant it as a kind of complement. I can see all of those players playing pissed off with a major chip on their shoulder. You're right, that could be fun.
Dilly Duka signing with NPSL Motown, as reported by Michael Lewis, is an interesting development. He has had injury issues, and I believe has a relationship with their coach, ex-YNT Sacir Hot, but he's still on the right side of 30. (And I say that as someone who knows the wrong side pretty well.)
Apparently I spoke too soon, but I was still right. NOW it's official: The former U.S. international was officially added to the club’s roster on Thursday, making Adu available for selection as Lights FC hosts Silver State Cup rival Reno 1868 FC this Saturday night in the club’s inaugural regular-season home opener at Cashman Field (8 p.m. PT | Match Center). https://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/900652?referrer_id=2427467

As someone who ran a reasonably competitive mens amateur team for a decade, my first thought upon seeing stuff like this is always "Wonder which Saturday league team is gonna land this guy."
Never a good headline for a former YNT catch-up, or for anybody. PS.. Never hide in the bushes Bryan. That never works. Also, impressive by the cops to run down a former pro athlete who is still in his mid 20's ________________________ Haledon man fled scene of car crash on foot after thinking he hit somebody, police say CLIFTON — City police said they caught a 24-year-old Haledon man Wednesday afternoon after he fled the scene of an accident in which his car struck the front of a house. Police said the man, Bryan Gallego, told them he feared that he had struck somebody. Officers responded to Lotz Hill Road around 4:40 p.m. after a 2017 Audi S8 veered into the front porch of the house. Only the passenger was there when they arrived. The driver had fled. Witnesses said the car was traveling at a high speed just before the crash, said Detective Lt. Robert Bracken. Officers searched the area and found Gallego hiding in bushes near Cobble Street and Four Seasons Boulevard, Bracken said. When the driver saw the officers, he fled, Bracken said. Police chased him on foot through the town house complex, then tackled the driver and took him into custody. Gallego was charged with resisting arrest and numerous motor vehicle summonses, including leaving the scene of an accident.
