Yes because if a tech millionaire can do it in his adopted home town, anyone can.

I like in his write up where he talks about paying for the rental on the stadium (among his highest costs) and simply writes it off because he paid for it out of pocket. Like some how that shouldn't affect the bottom line.

Two more games this season. Saturday - sorry, USMNT game takes priority. Will try to get to Monday's game. 6 PM start - gotta work though. 50 minute drive.

A kid I used to coach about 10 years ago is on the roster. Would love to see him play. He didn't make the game day roster on the 6/11 game when I was there.

On another note, my 16-yo son and his friends were in awe when Tyler Adams from RBNY walked right by us and sat in the section next to us. They were too chicken-shit to go ask to take a picture with him.

    Official League Statement - August 3, 2017

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) today released the following statement:

"The NPSL is following with great interest the claim filed by one of its 95 members, Kingston Stockade FC, and The Miami FC of the NASL with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to require the US Soccer Federation to adopt FIFA’s stated mandate to all National Federations to maintain promotion and relegation across all divisions in US Soccer. The NPSL is supportive of the positive change this claim could bring upon the development of the sport in this country."

Heartbreaking loss in the Open Cup last night to Long Island but the travelling support was fantastic. Kingston had about as many fans at the game as the home team.

even in their heyday...the LIRR never drew well...

amazing post from Crispin Kott of the Kingston Times summed up the night so well

"Stockade FC did not win their first ever Open Cup game. They did not advance. They did not take advantage of an early lead, except to double it just after halftime. They did not blame one another as their opponents did as they found themselves having to defend much more than they had through the entire first half. They did not succumb to malaise as the second overtime proved their undoing. They did not blame the long bus ride or the lack of showers in the locker room. They did not give up. They lost the game, but they did not lose. I’ve had the privilege since the team’s first game of seeing how they handle themselves when they win and when they don’t. Their supporters are ridiculous and wonderful, their players inspirational in their character and fortitude. Everyone involved with the club is just great. There are better days ahead for Stockade FC. There is tomorrow." - Crispin Kott

Holy fücking hell, that was one of the most amazing soccer games in the history of the sport. NPSL champs Elm City Express up by 4 at the half, Kingston scores 4 in the second half. That's a draw that feels like a World Cup Final win.

Very excited about today’s announcement. We will be able to spend $2.5 million on Dietz Stadium as well as $3.8 million to build a public parking garage and public park as part of the Kingstonian Project.

Nice, if Cosmos B are still around next year in this league, I hope there will be an away game in Kingston next summer. Kingston is a nice place to spend the weekend.

How in the world does the Albany area, with a population of over a million, not have an NPSL team?

Season opener isn’t until next week. I treasure the blog but I won’t expect it.

But it’s gotta be tough when your season is over before the first kick because there’s a professional team in your amateur league.
