I couldn't find a thread for him, though he has been mentioned before as one of the "Fil-Americans" playing in the Philippines.

It seems he is leaving his longtime club, Kaya FC, according to a post on Instagram:

I was 16 when I made my first decision to come to the Philippines and to play for the National Team. It was probably one of the most exciting times in my life. I was ready to start my career and make a name for myself. In 2012, I signed my first ever contract with Kaya FC, which then became another exciting time in my life. I was so eager, so motivated, to make an impact in club history.
As we fast forward 4 years, I am here to say that my time at Kaya FC has come to an end...

Some reporting on his announcement seems to have interpreted it as an international retirement, but I'm not sure that's the case. Club announcement:

A tenacious and skilled forward, OJ scored goals on several occasions and embodied the club’s spirit on and off the pitch. He adhered to Kaya’s philosophy and understood the importance of hunger, heart, and humility. He played a pivotal role and was vital to the club’s success, especially in the 2015 UFL Cup, where Kaya claimed the title, and the 2016 AFC Cup, where we advanced to the last 16.

Everyone at the club respects his decision, and we all wish him well in his future career and beyond.

OJ Porteria is in the lineup for the Bahrain and N Korea October friendlies. The former Kaya player says he will be available for the Suzuki Cup in late November and December, then he is open to other possibilities. The Virginian said he trained with MLS team DC United while in the states recently and he says he may join some scouting combines in the US, where MLS and European scouts examine players.

Thanks to @Pelefan for the link. OJ Porteria is now with Filipino League champions Ceres-Negros whom he joined in 2017, playing in the Asian Champions League.

    They won 2-3.

    OJ Porteria – 6.5

Pressed high and hard, forced a lot of mistakes from the opposition holding midfielders but didn’t get many chances on the ball.

This is a historic match for a Philippine club that OJ participated in, as Ceres Negros recorded a first ever win against a top tier A league club from Australia in official Asian club tournament competition and the farthest they have advanced in the AFC Champion's League qualifiers.

They played creditably before in the second tier AFC Cup Asian club competition, winning the group stages at that tournament, but this is their biggest win so far, and the result as well as the peeling jersey numbers on Brisbane's kits that resulted in a player being sidelined, has been called embarrassing by Australian critics especially since Philippine clubs are considered minnows at the top tier AFC Champions League level.

Ceres did this a few weeks into their preseason against a midseason form A league club while playing away in Australia.

Next up for OJ and Ceres is moneyed club Chinese outfit Tianjin Quanjian next week.

Porteria proud of Busmen’s historic run

OJ Porteria and is the rest of Ceres-Negros may have ended their fairy tale run in the AFC Champions League with a defeat to Tianjin, but the midfielder looked back fondly at the experience especially after making Philippine club football history in their first attempt.

“I’m very proud of the team, very proud of everyone that’s involved in this club,” said the springy winger after the conclusion of the ACL Play-off with the Chinese squad. “Obviously, its very difficult for us to play these games in high level when you don’t really have a preseason and preparations especially if you happen to be arriving the day of the game.”

The busmen showed tremendous quality despite the circumstances that included playing on a frozen conditions against team that pays top dollar to some recognizable stars of world football. Starting the last two games, Porteria saw firsthand the difference in class between the two Champions League teams they faced.

“They (Tianjin) had three very high level players with Modeste, Pato, and Witsel. Its clear you can see the high level. Compared to the Brisbane Roar players, these players are just so calm on the ball and the pace that they play of the game is very fast,” said the many-time Philippine International.

Thought they missed out on being part of Asia’s elite competition, Porteria was pleased of the historic run especially when the team’s whole-hearted performance against the Chinese giant.

“Overall, I think this is great for Philippine football and we can be proud of ourselves and come out of this with our heads held high. It is something that is bigger than we can imagine and people all around Asia can look at us and say that this team is pretty damn good,” he added.

The Negros squad now set their sights in the AFC Cup where they will defend their ASEAN zone title starting on February 13 in Panaad.

The Busmen? I had to look this one up.

Looks like the club is owned by a Filipino bus company. The busses and the club kit look to be the same shade of yellow.

Yes the owners of Ceres own one of the largest bus transportation companies in central and southern Philippines. They are avid football owners from a football mad region(unusual in generally basketball crazy Philippines) who have sponsored regional football tournaments in the past.

Their opponents from China Tianjin have deep pockets though. They have 3 imports who are national team players from Brazil, France and Belgium whose transfer fees would have been enough to pay for the entire roster of Ceres for several years.

Ceres was competitive and took the game to the Chinese in the early going but eventually the quality of the 3 imports overwhelmed them and they eventually lost 0-2 to Tianjin. Ceres also arrived late on matchday in China, with only a few hours rest before the match, which was played in subzero winter weather, so they were somewhat of a disadvantage going into the match, especially since they are essentially still in their preseason.

The AFC Champion's League playoff qualifiers also had a unusual format which favored clubs from China, S Korea and Japan since the playoff qualifiers was a one off match with the stronger team hosting the tie. It was unfair to the smaller teams from ASEAN to compete without a home leg, especially since they come from tropical climates and are forced to play under frigid conditions. All the ASEAN teams which participated in the playoffs lost.

As a result there have been calls to change the format and make it fairer.

In today's AFC Cup campaign with their first Group F match against Cambodian side Boeung Ket Angkor:

I can't find a starting lineup, but it looks like he starts... and scores in the 1st half:

He must have scored the 9th goal as well, because this tweet says he has a brace, but all the other goals are accounted for in the thread:

Yep, it was the 9th goal:

Ceres-Negros FC opens their 2018 AFC Cup campaign with the 9-0 destruction of Boeung Ket FC on Tuesday, February 13, at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium.

Takumi Uesato and Bienvenido Marañon led the scoring by halftime as both registered two goals apiece. OJ Porteria capped off the first half scoring parade to give Ceres a 5-0 lead by the first half.

Ceres continued to ride with the momentum as Porteria scored a brace while Carli de Murga and Manny Ott also made it to the score sheet in the second half.

There was no consolation at for Boeung Ket as the Cambodian club failed to contain the lethal lineup of Ceres.

After playing in 3 away games in the AFC Champions League qualifiers, Ceres finally made a return back home to open their 2018 AFC Cup campaign in Group F.

The Bacolod-based squad quickly took charge early in the game, holding majority of the possession throughout the game. In the 15th minute, Ceres broke the opponent's defense which saw Uesato find the back of the net from the 6-yard box. This marked the first goal of Uesato since his transfer to Ceres.

Three minutes later, Marañon's header doubled the lead after he finished Stephan Schrock's corner which initially found Mike Ott (2-0). In another 3-minute gap, Uesato met Jeffrey Christiaen's low cross from the left wing to score a brace (3-0).

In the 28th minute, Mike Ott was tripped while bringing it towards the goal keeper box which allowed Marañon to convert a penalty and made it a 4-0 lead for Ceres.

Porteria gets on the score sheet as he converted a Marañon assist from the edge of the box in the 31st minute (5-0).

Trailing 5-0 in the second half, luck was on Boeung Ket side as Sun Sovanrithy fumbled with defending and headed the ball to the back of a net for an own goal in the 57th minute (6-0, Ceres)

Six minutes later, team captain de Murga made it a 7-0 lead for Ceres with a header off Manny Ott's cross from the right flank.

This match also marked Manny Ott's return from injury and the central midfielder made immediate impact with a shot from the distance in the 81st minute (8-0)

In the 84th minute, Porteria finally scored his brace that cut through the Boeung Ket defense and into the back of the net (9-0).

Boeung Ket's greateast chance came from the 23rd minute where Khuon Laboravy sends an attack that hit the crossbar.

Ceres-Negros' next game will be on February 27 against Home United in Singapore.

Super's real name is Manuel Herrera and he is from Spain. He got his "Super" nickname in Spain and somehow it stuck.

Ceres prefers to recruit their foreign reinforcements from Spain(Herrera, Doblas, Maranon)
