If you look closely you will see it is not the coach's fault: I think this (NK players betting against themselves) is very wrong to Andersen. Players betraying their coach is like children betraying their parents. But it is possible players didn't have a choice, it may well be government ordered. If he did realize what was happening maybe wanted to protect Han from being connected to a crime if there is an investigation. Taken by Football Lebanon journalist prior to this match. The guy with glasses who is looking at camera is no other but Yun Jong-Su who is serving his 1 year ban for that Uzbekistan U16 goalkeeper-incident. What is he doing here? I dare to say he is the middleman for match fixing (he receives the instuctions and then briefs players before match) because fixed matches have followed him from U23 to U16 to today Lebanon-N Korea.
They bet against themselves. Have you seen Spartacus blood and sand? There is a scene where slave Spartacus, in order to save his wife, agrees to die in a pit fight so his master can make a big bet against him. The NK players get something out of it too. Look at the picture, almost every single one of them wearing Adidas gopnik suits, not the "DPRK" tracksuit. The model and shade of blue of 3-stripe adidas is different from one another. It is their individual leisure suit, status symbol and I think it is their reward for doing this. Just found this: https://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/nu-vill-jorn-54-lamna-nordkorea/ It is news from last week so this was Jörn Andersen's last match.
Thanks, a couple of goals like the first do seem suspicious. I can imagine that it's possible that some players are match fixing. Sad. The Adidas thing seems a bit far-fetched though. It also seems kind of unrealistic to me that the coach knew what was going on and he tried to protect Han honestly...
The Swedish article was misleading most likely (it says "now Jørn wants to leave North Korea"). According to this original Norwegian interview https://resett.no/2017/10/06/andersen-vil-gi-seg-som-nord-korea-trener/ (includes some interesting short glimpse from NK league that Andersen is attending, the crowd is sitting on grass around the field) he will not prolong his contract that ends in March 2018. It is also sad to be betrayed by his players(/NK superiors) for Andersen because he wanted to make a name for himself in East Asia (his aim was to become a club coach in one of the EAFF nations) but now he is seen as the "architect" for North Korea biggest loss ever against an AFC team. Since 1964 the biggest margin against an Asian team was 3 goals until now but already under Andersen they have lost by 3 goals to both Vietnam and Thailand and now making a new record against similarly average Lebanon team 5-0. Only Portugal (2010 World Cup) and Brazil U20 (1997, it probably was against NK U20 team though) have won them by more than a 5 goals margin. (Source http://www.rsssf.com/tablesn/nkor-intres.html ) It was brave and trusting for Andersen to start his Asian coaching career by jumping in at the deep end but these results don't look good in his CV. In matches I have seen he got NK playing good and in a more modern way (comparing to traditional Charles Hughes way that NK were famous of for a long time). Andersen is hoping his future employers see "behind the results". For example in the away match against famous passing team Thailand North Korea had over 60 % of the ball and Thailand only had 3 shots, you can see them all in this video (is this gk the same Ri Myong-guk that was a nominee for Asian player of the year in 2010):
Sorry for spamming but still I entered wrong link and can't edit it anymore, I mean http://www.tv2.no/sport/9410617/
I feel bad that he got involved with the likes of Norks. I would not be surprised if the allegations are true. I hope he can find a good job afterwards (would love to have him over at K-league/KNT).
70% is freaken thievery. clubs that sign North Korean players may start getting cold feet after reading this (rumors of 70% of salary going straight back to Pyongyang alarmed Fiorentina, worried about violating sanctions) https://t.co/kthXGUeSs4— The Old Tavern Owner (@taeguk_warrior) December 9, 2017
DPRK have debts to pay, they even send their citizens to work freely in Polish and Russian factories.

no, I just follow Serie A a lot and followed him since his surprisingly signature with Cagliari. If you notice, he didn't make the bench these months.
