Just remember, Gonzo was not quality enough for a call up but 17 yr old Sargent without a pro game to his name, was.
From ESPN "I wasn't called in, in November," Gonzalez said in an interview with Soccer America. "Personally, nobody came and talked to me and let me know about that friendly. I just wasn't called in."
This would is a disturbing side-effect of our coaching vacancy. Perhaps an indication why its a poor idea to have a coaching vacancy of 6 plus months.
it would serve us right to lose him. US soccer deserves every bad thing that happens because of last cycle. I'll still cheer JG's club career though if he does make the switch
Anyone know if he has a verified twitter account? I'm going to get my AO chapter to tweet him if possible.
This crap is turning into college football recruiting. Poor guy is probably being bombarded on all sides. I wish folks would just leave him alone. He's indicated that he wants to play for the U.S. Has he done anything to indicate he's changed his mind?
I'd tread carefully tweeting him, this is exactly the same as tweeting at HS recruits, something that is generally seen as taboo.
Wh Really? Lol I think showing him love, and letting him know that people here stateside like him and want to see him suit up for the US isn't a bad thing.
Yea, poor guy. I really feel sorry for him! How will he cope with the millions of dollars, the glory, the fame, the TWEETS my GOD, the TWEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeets aggggggggg
Difference between recruits is ncaa violations. Us soccer could fly down to Monterrey with a bag of cash, 50 strippers and a new Benz and it’s be all kosher.
lol, your post reminds me of a German youth player who jumped ship to Azerbaijan after being offered $1 Million and supposedly a house too. Heard other stories where federations basically buy a player in to the program. So yeah it does happen.
wouldn't USSF be able to offer him more? Potential endorsements especially if he becomes as big a star as Pulisic is on his way to becoming.
but would he be as big a star to that league to warrant $$$$ than say if he was one of a few superstars in US soccer going forward?
