I picked up from the jersey announcement that Wil Trapp is changing his number to #6. Wonder why? Perhaps a number retirement for McB?

Found out through other sources that one reason was that he wore the 6 shirt in college. But I also realized that this also will be his sixth season in Columbus.

Soccer doesn't retire numbers, as I'm sure you know. #20 was the first one honored...not that snakeboy will honor any this year.

    TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Four sources have confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that star attackers Justin Meram and Ola Kamarahave both asked to be moved by Columbus Crew SC this offseason.

While the uncertainty around the club's future was a factor in both players' decisions to request a trade or transfer, according to the sources, it was not the only factor.

No surprise here, is there?? This just shows that the league is getting good enough that our players not only want to move up but can move up. They are getting to be at the age where it is now or never.

I have been bracing for Meram to leave. I am not one to peddle nonpublic information, but I was told last Nov/Dec that Meram would be pushing to leave Crew.

I am not sure what I will be telling my Markus.

Meram just posted a story on Instagram (how's THAT for a source for ya?) with him and Sauro "pre-season running." So that adds life to Sauro returning this year, no? I thought he was out of contract.

Or its the simple fact that they have no future in Columbus and hate Ownership. Other players will look to leave. 2018 "The Season of Mistrust".

I was following what was said in the article which was that it was a factor but not the entire story/. It's probably more of a factor for Meram, but even that's a guess, at best.

Losing Meram would be a huge loss and To sell Kamara and get Another striker or two would be a risk. Maybe they should just raise his salary if possible.

We should sign Rubin Rubio as a back up Striker

He is unsigned after his contract expired with Stabek
