Milan, Gattuso si "presenta" LIVE La conferenza di Rino "Serve spirito da guerriero" La conferenza stampa del nuovo tecnico dei rossoneri da Milanello, nel suo primo giorno di lavoro ... Gasport 28 nov 17 - 13:40 Gennaro Gattuso, 39 anni. Ap Milan: ciao e grazie Montella Ringhio darà la "scossa"?
We could have went with Guidolin, Mazzarri, Ranieri, Terim etc. but we decided to throw another legend under the bus.. Just why? I hope Gattuso proves me wrong but we really shouldn't have hired him at this point.
Just reading this now but you're quite incorrect. I'm confused how you could put Mancini in there but not Beckenbauer, Rijkaard, Trappatoni, Liedholm etc. In the contrary there's quite a few great players out there who became great coaches but people tend to often forget about them for some reason.
Like I posted , there are some exceptions but you are also covering 40 years which is quite a long time. Liedholm was a great player but before most everyone’s time. I doubt anyone on the board ever saw him play. I also doubt anyone remembers him coaching Roma to their scudetto 35 years ago. Beckenbauer never had a coaching certificate and was given the Germany job just because of his name. He later won with Bayern but most everyone who manages them wins. He never coached again. Rijkaard coached Barca which was a great team but hasn’t been heard of ever since he was fired and hadn’t managed in 5 years. Cruyff also managed Barca with success until he was fired and then never did much after that. Trap was a great coach at Juventus and later won at Bayern and Inter but even though he was a good player, he was never considered a great player and he also got to coach big clubs. To me anyway, when you have a chance to manage teams like Bayern, Juve , Barca or a national team like Germany, you are bound to have success. Other than Gattuso, I can’t name one manager in the Serie A currently who had a big name as a player.
Completely irrelevant. He was a great player and a great coach who achieved some rare feats in football like winning Roma scudetto and taking them to the European cup final. Well now you're just talking out of your ass aren't you? Please go check the winners of the Bundesliga in the 90s before spouting such bullshit. Bayern didn't win a single title in the 90s until Beckenbauer took over in 1993 and won them them the 1993/94 Bundesliga(he took them mid-season after many draws/defeats btw). Not to mention winning the World Cup against f*cking Maradona's Argentina which is no easy feat and before that he also got to the 1986 WC Final so it was no coincidence or luck that he won in 1990. Trap? Not a great player? What am I f*cking reading here? If Ancelotti is considered a great player than so is Trap. He won all there was to win with Milan and Carlo doesn't have much on him. Barca was not a great team. Far from it. It was Ronaldinho the team. Granted Rijkaard is probably the only one I mentioned that could be considered not that great but then again he's still way better than Manshitni ever was. So let's cool it down with the whole "Oh Zidane is a shit coach he just has a great team" narrative just a bit. Even though the CL has been weak these past couple of years it's still a tremendous achievement to win 2 back-to-back after no team had done it for decades and he did it in his first few years. We'll see what he does with other teams when he moves on from Real but nobody can take these 2 victories away from him. And I'm going to mention too that Shitlotti also inherited great teams wherever he went particularly that great Milan team of the 2000s who would tear this Real to shreds but yet he managed to choke spectacularly not once but 2 TIMES to massively inferior teams in the grand stage. He also managed to lose Ligue 1 with PSG after the previous coach who got sacked for no reason had them in first place. Zidane hasn't humiliated himself in this fashion yet I'll tell you that. Lol at putting anshit and manshitni over Trap and Becks just lol.
First of all, I was mostly talking about superstars and in the Serie A. Did you ever see Trap play? Trap was never a great superstar player. He was a decent defensive mid but never a great world renowned defender. He made his name as a manager with Juventus. His claim to fame on the world stage was stopping Pele in an exhibition match. Ok so that was good. He played in one World Cup where Italy was humiliated in 1962. Nobody knew him outside of Italy. Speaking of Maradona, just look at what he has done as a coach. For that matter , Milan’s Seedorf or Inzaghi! Name one great player who was successful coach in Italy in the last 5 or even 10 years? I'm counting 3. Mancini, Ancelotti and Antonio Conte, Conte was a good player but never a superstar. Again , there are exceptions but they are few and far between, especially in Italy. You can believe whatever you want but I still say superstars don’t make great coaches.
latest rumor is that milan will be fined 20M for breaching ffp rules. if uefa say we didn't have the cash to be able to spend the money we spent this summer, why are they taking more cash from us? i understand the idea of some kind of penalty, but a fine makes no sense. maybe limit roster spots or limit incoming transfers for a window, but to say a club is under-capitalized and then require them to pay a fine is absolutely asinine.
I kind of agree how in Milan's case it's crazy but the logic would be like a luxury tax. However that money should go to other teams in the same league qualified for European cups.
lol...this is Moggi logic But I like that it doesn't go to UEFA. Instead, maybe to youth development initiatives.
it's shaping up to be a decent week. first we got a win over inter in the coppa. now montella appears to be making his way off our books so he can coach sevilla. i hope we're not buying out too much of that new contract he got in may. if we get him off the books, we're not paying any first team coaches, right? gattuso was already under contract to coach the primavera. surely pippo and miha are off the books by now considering they're both coaching other teams.
here are a couple reads y'all might be interested in. i haven't had a chance to read the latter. a profile on pirlo: http://timeontheball.net/2017/11/15/the-architect/ another on capello's 93/94 team: http://timeontheball.net/2017/02/08/capellos-masterpiece/
this really was a good read. it's incredible that they went from a goal differential of 74/21 to 65/32 to 36/15 across three seasons. capello said you make wine with the grapes you have. when you have desailly, maldini, baresi, costcurta, and tossati, that's a pretty good foundation to build your team on. i loved the final few paragraphs about the aftermath of the 4-0 thrashing of barca in the CL final: picturing galliani running around in a sweat trying to find the european cup is hilarious.
hachim mastour, the keepy-uppy king: where is he now? back at milanello it seems... https://gentlemanultra.com/2018/01/...lan-the-story-of-a-fenomeno-crowned-too-soon/
This is great for those who remember that squad. Brings back awesome memories and just underlines current (last 4+ years) of crap. https://twitter.com/acmilan/status/951073719400718336?s=15
so after 21 games, we're up to 7th and 3 points behind samp for 6th. we're 12 points off 4th place and the last CL spot. all things considered, i won't be upset with a 6th place finish if we can do that. i don't think we'll catch roma for 5th.
lol I hadn't done any research at that point. His statement was good though. https://www.acmilan.com/en/news/off...2-20/official-statement-president-li-yonghong
when someone says something is fake news, doesn't it just make them so much more gosh darn believable? lol. is there a bigger red flag right now? cringe.
I understand that sentiment but this is also a Chinese, to Italian, to English translation it seems. Plus I'm not gonna lie if you look at some of the shit that happens in Italian media and this article, in particular, he doesn't seem to necessarily be wrong.
