Minus, re read my posts. I'm very aware of how the system works. As a matter of fact, i said that if you work and/or live in downtown, brickell or the beach, you can get by without a car.

It was all good until this:

Someone coming from city like Boston may get the wrong idea and think we have a robust system as they're accustom to. Just saying.....

You have trains each way every 15 or 30 touching Downtown, Brickell and Dadeland:

    http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/library/metrorail-guide.pdf

You have several bus routes run to and from Downtown to the Beaches and Midtown:

    http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/library/system-map-brochure.pdf

A route sampler of busess connecting So.Be. and Downtown:

    http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/routes_schedule.asp?srv=WEEKDAY&dir=Northbound&rt=103&rtName=103 Route C

    http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/routes_schedule.asp?srv=WEEKDAY&dir=Eastbound&rt=113&rtName=113 Route M

    http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/routes_schedule.asp?srv=WEEKDAY&dir=Northbound&rt=119&rtName=119 Route S

I know our system, I've used it for 10 years. I know where it goes to, the frequencies and the pros and cons. If you are near Downtown and/or near the train, you can go by without a car. Now, if you venture outside those areas, it is either having a car and/or a 90+ minute commute, most likely riding the train for the final leg of the trip (or paying through your nose for a parking spot).

Haha like a college tour. Came thurday night. sent me someone young to show me around(night life) haha

Came with my fiancé it was fun. She likes it just real far from our family. It's also not much more then what I currently make. They were also kind of vague on the bonus structure as well. So maybe make even less. We own a apartment in Boston and can rent it for a nice amount just don't think the Miami life is for me.

Saved me a snow storm and a free trip 5 day trip to Miami isn't bad :)

Like last year a oil company wanted to hire me. 5 day trip to Texas....... Don't move to Texas haha

No Bible Belt hick states for me. Texas was awful. Hated 86% about it. They also seem to have shit against people from the east coast. Kept asking if I went to Harvard or mentioning it like a bad thing. Haha

Florida is nice and slightly cheaper then Boston. Just not for me. Would have been a awesome place to live in when I graduated from college but I am over the whole club thing.

    Food real good.

I only really like Boston, NYC or San Fran/San Diego

Must of ran to really ignorant ppl. I'm from east coast and I can only name a few ppl like that.

Houston is more diverse and it's not so Bible Belt

I've been to Houston and San Antonio. Houston didn't experience that much but it was nice for the time we stayed there. San Antonio was awesome and very diverse; a nice combination of Mexican heritage and small city endeavour, not to mention a lot of sight seeing and very diverse surroundings.

agree. lived in miami (lincoln rd) for three years between college and bschool and never met a soul that didnt have a car. remember commuting to work on the 836 highway and the metrorail would fly over a spot where there was always traffic - i remember because there was never anyone on the train!

btw - san antonio is great and has the lowest cost of living in the country thanks to hebs competition with walmart.

    How long ago was that?

I know several people that does not or have not used a car for a portion of their lives. Ryu, off course the system is not very strong but gas prices and the construction boom in down town, brickell, so. Beach, dadeland and midtown changed the way a lot of people (mostly young professionals) moved in the city.

Hey guys thanks for the info. I actually got offered a job at one of professors consulting practices. Decided to accept that instead more money and near NYC where my fiancé and I wanted to move. I will be the 1st non former VP they have hired as he wants to change how the company is run for new ideas. Pretty excited but hours will be even longer.
