Regarding the FanID, I was looking at the application requirements and it mentions a photograph. Obviously this will have to be uploaded electronically. Anyone already do this? Are there any quality/size requirements i.e. like a passport photo (head and shoulders only, white background)?
Yeah, a passport photo is perfect. The website detects whether your photo is in compliance. Meanwhile, I just checked my Fan ID status, and it now says “In Print.” Maybe they’ll be shipping soon!
Oh, I thought you were in the same boat as some of us who only just recently had their credit card charge approved. Hope that you get your email. Does your My Request page show "SUCCESSFUL" ? Mine reads that and has green for the games I got what I asked for and yellow for the game that I got lower category tix for.
Check the Q&A section on the FIFA ticketing site. Gives you all the details of how the picture should look. Neutral expression, background , megapixel limit, etc. Passport photos are bloody expensive so I was thinking of doing it myself in front of a white wall in my house. Lets see if that works...
I have to obtain FanIDs for myself and 3 guests who are geographically separated from me. Kind of hoping someone who has already done the ID process can weigh in on the photo part so we can find out exactly what did work.
God no it's not that picky. I did a selfie with bad frot camera in front of a greyish wall and it was approved next day.
Yeah, they updated the site so that it’ll tell you right away if your photo is good or not. It wasn’t set up this way for Confeds.
Sorry for the torrent of questions. How did you do the FanID application, on a computer, or a tablet or phone? Main reason I am asking is that the only pictures I can load from a computer would have to be saved as jpgs whereas on the phone or tablet I would just select from the available pics stored on the device.
What browsers did people successfully purchase tix from? I was unable to complete my purchase in chrome as the browser wouldn't let me submit my credit card info. Had to switch to Edge to be able to finalize payment before the draw. Lets keep this thread on tix please. Other threads for FanID, hotel, travel, etc.
On the FanID photos, you need to make sure the background is 100% clear of anything (no hanging pictures, windows, doors, etc) and it needs to be white. I helped a friend with his photos and they all got rejected with this explanation: Invalid background color (light background required) the background in his photos was a very light yellow, but I guess it wasn't light enough. Also, make sure the photo is cropped and composed as close as possible to the example they provide. One of his daughters had her photo rejected for "Face out of border" even though it was composed exactly like the others. The one difference is some of her hair was sticking out from where she tied it back and it went to the edge of the photo. That's my best guess anyway. BTW, I'm a portrait photographer and have a DSLR, lights, etc but for my own FanID photo I just used my Samsung phone and took a selfie in my office as I have plain white walls. I cropped it properly to the right dimensions (420x525 or some multiple of that) and mine got approved first try. Bottom line: you do not need to pay for passport photos! Just follow the instructions in the FAQs.
I did the FanID from my laptop and using the laptop's camera. I had to do like 12 attempts or so before it accepted the photo. I received the SMS and email one day later saying the FanID was 'approved'.
Sorry, now I can't find the email, so maybe it was just an SMS, who knows. Anyway, the 'Check Status' option in the website says 'Approved'.
I used my webcam on my laptop, white wall background is best take the photo during the day as light-globe reflection does tend to create shadow which the system rejects.
I’m guessing by Friday everyone’s account will be updated? Because I believe the fifa site is going to be shut down on Monday in preparation for next Thursday’s FCFS phase
Yeap, but I was saying that if you have visa-free travel option to Russia, like Brazil Citizens, than you can get that FanID in FAN ID Distribution centers after your arrival to one of the Host Cities. Just a plan B for those who plan to change their passports.
