I think England is pretty much safe. All the teams look likely of advancing. Not sure about Chelsea just yet, but they probably will as well.

Dortmund is starting to become a real laughing stock though. Cannot beat APOEL? RB Leipzig was impressive to beat Porto, but I don't think they will go through. Porto and Monaco will both beat them in Portugal and France.

Napoli I hope will advance. I think as long as they beat Shakhtar in Ukraine they are ok. Hopefully they'll beat Man City in Naples. As long as they are not atrocious in the first 20 min like they were today. I am confident Napoli will draw at least at home.

We're screwed because the dutch sucked at home.

Shakhtar has 6 points, there games are what? Home against Feyenoord and Man City and away against us? They'll get 3 points min which will bring them to 9. We have Man City and Shaktar at home with an away trip to Feyenoord.

We basically need to win every game cuz if we don't, Man City has the luxury of putting a weakened/unmotivated side against Shaktar. Fcuks sake that away game against Shatkar is seriously putting us in a bad spot.

Long way to go, but I do wonder how many players Man City will leave at home for that trip to Ukraine in winter. Especially since they have a huge match at Old Trafford just 3/4 days later.

They've put themselves in the position where they can rest their players. I wouldn't be surprised if they are rested for that game against Shaktar. That's why we need to win the last 3 games. Gonna be extremely difficult. If we can manage to scrape the win against City, I think we can get the job done.

Well, seems like the Bundesliga will be 3rd after this match day again. I like a good race.

    Are they third now?

Juventus won, and Roma drew Chelsea. Bayern won as expected. Anyway we still have Europa League tomorrow!

OMG I am so impressed with Roma. They played pretty well and almost won even. Well hopefully in two weeks they'll beat Chelsea in Italy!!!

Juve were still tied when I wrote it. Will be a close race until spring, that's for sure.

The week isn't done there's still EL. Besides, after this match day it'll only have just reached half way

Atletico drew 0-0 away to Qarabag. Second place is now Roma's to lose.

Lazio vs Nice will be a thrilling game to watch.

Atalanta and Milan should take full points.

Increadibly Bundesliga teams are just 4-3-12 in the CL and EL combined so far. All 4 teams in the EL are either last in their group or already eliminated!

Serie A teams OTOH are 15-3-3 in Europe.

Well Hoffenheim won today, but their game was a piece of cake. Kohln and Hertha Berlin lost as expected.

Great wins for Lazio and Atalanta. I am really starting to question AC Milan as a team right now. They are really not living up to expectations in Serie A and their draw with Athens at home today has just said something about them. Knowing Montella, I trust him to get AC Milan as far as possible in the Europa League, but their struggle to score goals is very concerning at the moment.

I wonder if we could try and bypass England as well. It won't happen in the group stages, but I am thinking possibly depending on the draws, if all EPL teams find themselves out in the Round of 16 and Round of 32 in Europa League, while Serie A teams go further. One plus side to EPL teams drawing easy groups is that they cannot face each other in Round of 16 nor face the other team from the same group.

The only problem is Arsenal will be tough to knockout of the Europa League. Supposedly maybe if Atletico Madrid goes down to Europa they could knock them out.

We won't pass England this year, it'd take a shock shit show from them for that to happen. We'll extend our lead on the Germans, the top 3 leagues in the world are undoubtedly the Spanish, English and Italian league.

Your probably right. I don't see us passing England this year unless the draw goes extremely in the favor for Serie A teams. However I am confident we will pass Germany this year.

England will get an extra 2 points just by advancing five teams to the CL knockout stage, compared to probably two Italian teams (5*5/7=3.6 points versus 2*5/6=1.7).

If anything Italy will probably get tougher draws on top of it since none of them seem like they will win their group.

PS Arsenal is the least of your problems.

You are probably right. Although I think all three Italian teams will advance, unless Shakhtar upsets somehow. With five English teams advancing, some are bound to get tough draws because they cannot draw each other and they cannot draw anyone in the same group.

In fact I believe there will be one matchup at least in Round of 16 with a Serie A team vs EPL team.

Juventus and Roma still have a chance of winning their groups. Juventus though will have to beat Barca 4-0 in Turin though which is highly unlikely, but if they play the same way they did with the 3-0 thumping in Turin last season, it could be done, so I won't rule it out, but Barcelona will probably win the group by superior head to head record on aggregate or goal difference if its a 3-0 win to Juve.

Roma though if they beat Chelsea at the Stadio Olympico, they have a good chance of topping the group, although Atletico will be tough for both Roma and Chelsea so it could depend on how that both of those games go.

Hey All, What do you make of the chances of Napoli and Roma winning this week? I'd say both are higher than 2 weeks ago as they are home.

Would you say Napoli and Roma have a chance?

I'd bet on both teams getting a result, but a win for both is going to be tough. Not impossible though that's forsure

Yeah. Man City and Chelsea are not nearly as strong as a lot of people make them sound. I have watched both play.

Honestly Man City is really just another Napoli. The only difference is that Man City has a bench with more quality and they are a little more clinical with their game play. Man City is really just a tiny bit better than Napoli.

Chelsea has a lot of trouble in defense. All it really takes to beat them is a good midfield that knows how to play together as a team, and attackers that have clinical finishing. Roma is more than capable of beating them if they are hungry enough. Also Chelsea is missing a few key players. I believe Moses is still out and Kante is definitely not fit enough. I read that Conte still might play him, but he most likely won't be near his best.

The EPL doesn't really have teams that are that good. They have a bunch of second tier teams that perform well which is why EPL usually is pretty successful in Europe, but none of their teams can compete with the top at the moment.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, PSG, and Bayern Munich are all better.
