Sort of like how Uruguay hasn't "officially" qualified yet.

    Tough group that was.

The only qualifying group with 3 past WC finalists. I'm of course very happy France could go through, it was far from being given.

All my respect to the Dutchies, and I wish good hope to Sweden in the playoffs.

Sweden scored more goals against Luxembourg than The Netherlands. that little detail eliminated the Netherlands of the playoff

Sweden scored more goals - it's the rules not a "little detail" - it's not like the Netherlands played different teams.

Sweden also didn't lose 4-0 to France.

My spreadsheet missed Albania being eliminated on October 6 and Cyprus being eliminated on October 7. The numbers in this topic might need to be corrected. 46 teams are left, so Syria is 47.

CONCACRAP is a joke. USA is losing to T & T and they will still qualify directly because panama and honduras are both losing at home. no matter HOW crap mexico or usa play, they have a direct ticket to every single world cup. joke.

south american qualifying is so exciting right now. at this moment it seems like all the big teams will make it. the only thing that could change things up is paraguay winning, which would knock out chile and peru.

What does that say about AFC? You seem to think they are more competitive, yet for the last 7 World Cups, CONCACAF has had better results overall than AFC (the only time AFC outperformed CONCACAF in those 7 was 2002).

no they are not. paraguay or peru needs to score for that to happen. chile will easily beat new zealand. a few minute remaining.. can paraguay score at home against the weakest team, venezuela?

Regardless of the quality - the tension here (and in Conmebol, and in the AFC) has been epic over the last 15 hours

thats not what i said. i said its too easy for mexico and USA. in AFC the top teams have a harder time qualifying. mexico and usa should be part of conmebol, and concacaf should have 1.5 spots.

Why is that sad? USA are where they belong. They are rubbish at the greatest sport in the world. It is a fact. Last two world cups were just flukes and luck.
