Man, football in Korea have become extremely dull and boring. K-League have been uninspiring, the National Team is clearly as bad as Scottish National Team, and too many behind-the-scenes bs happening with KFA/Hiddink. I know we've been talking about it for many years and have always been a discussion, and I'm sounding like a broken record....but we really need a massive reform of everything football-related in Republic of Korea.
The KFA debacle/KNT performances has hit every aspects of Korean football. Other than the ACL performance last year and VAR this year, the K-League hasn't really changed performance-wise, imo. I wouldn't be surprised if some random journalists or K-neitizen brought Korean futsal into this huge issue somehow.
I think the quality has been the same only because 1) they reduce the number of K-League Classic teams (when we had ridiculous 16 teams one time...) 2) But the reducing the number of teams did not improve the quality because all our top players winded up going to either China/Japan/ME. Which I don't blame them for when they can get paid much more handsomely and treated better.
Jeonbuk are the 2017 K-League Classic champions. Lee Dong-gook scored his historic 200th goal today.
I really want him and Lee Jae Sung to go. But I doubt that KMJ already has gained interests. Also, he's injured..
Lee Jae Sung isn't going. Also KMJ should be fully recovered by the start of January. But yeah, he could have gotten some interest I think if he played well against Iceland and Colombia. Too bad he's injured.
Nah jury is still out there for KMJ and I don't think European scouts are flocking to K-League to watch our players. Kwon Chang-Hoon might be one of the very last ones going directly to Europe for awhile now. I don't think LJS going to Europe either but if he is, he's going to a 2nd tier/3rd tier level league in Europe. He's not going to be a starting defensive mid-fielder for a Bundesliga club, no matter how much Marcos want it to happen.
K-League Classic best 11: GK: Cho Hyun-Woo, Daegu (47,4% votes) LB: Kim Jin-Su, Jeonbuk (54,1%) CB: Kim Min Jae, Jeonbuk (62,4%) CB: Oh Ban Suk, Jeju (23,3%) RB: Choi Chul Soon, Jeonbuk (85,7%) LM: Yeom Ki Hun, Suwon (53,4%) CM: Lee Jae Sung, Jeonbuk (64,2%) CM: Lee Chang Min, Jeju (16,5%) RM: Lee Seung Gi, Jeonbuk (54,1%) FW: Johnathan, Suwon (60,2%) FW: Lee Geun Ho, Gangwon (18,2%) Classic Top Goal Scorer: Johnathan, Suwon (22 goals) Classic Top Assist Scorer: Son Joon Ho, Pohang (13 assists) Best Manager Award: Choi Kang Hee Most Valuable Player: Lee Jae Sung Best Young Player Award: Kim Min Jae Adidas Fantastic Player Award: Johnathan
A little bit of a biased voting system imo. Yeom Ki Hun was much better last season, but ridiculously didn't get into the best 11, while this season IMO Yoon Il Rok would've deserved it more instead of him. Lee Seung Gi was also great, but I had expected a lower voting percentage. In the front, instead of Lee Geun Ho, maybe Yang Dong Hyun would've earned it more (because of the amounts of goals), even though I prefer LGH as a player. On the other positions, I pretty much agree. Congratz to Lee Jae Sung and Kim Min Jae! Boys, get out of the K-League asap! And naturalize Johnathan ffs! EDIT: Oh and how nice it is that the KNT has been playing well lately, while having 4 players from this selection as starters. Add Kim Min Jae and maybe Cho Hyun Woo and we have 6 K-League players in our best 11.
Here it is the team we should us at the EAFF. We just have to add some new players and remove Johnathan
The problem is that his style is not really needed in the KNT. Otherwise he'd be a serious option. IMO he's a bit like KJC: a good CAM who can score, but not really a playmaker. As a CM partner for Ki, he's too offensive (just as KJC).
