Is this an unusually low volume of traffic for a home match thread? It seems awfully quiet to me. Anyhow, still looking for a single ticket if anyone has one on offer . . . .

So, new issue with attending. I can get a ticket. I have my flights reserved, but now I have a problem with packing anything! I was planning on traveling without hotel reservations and just napping at the airport for whatever hours between the match, going out after, and my flight back home early on Saturday morning, but I'm running into issues with the bag policy at the stadium.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to travel with a minimal reasonable amount of things (like an extra shirt / pair of underwear / toothbrush, etc) but be able to store a small bag during the match? Orlando's stadium apparently allows nearly nothing in the way of bags, nor do they offer any on-site storage. It would seem really silly if this is what keeps me from attending the match.

Are there any rental lockers at the airport?

You should be able to get your stuff into the stadium in a clear bag:

"The Club encourages guests not to bring any bags, however the following will be permitted:

    • One clear bag no larger than 12"x 6" x 12" OR a one-gallon clear freezer bag (Ziploc or similar).
    • Guests may carry a small clutch bag or purse no larger than 5" x 6.5", with or without a strap.
    • Each ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse.
    • Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag. However, diaper bags are not permitted.
    • Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are permitted if carried loosely or in an approved clear bag.
    • Blankets should be carried over the shoulder to be screened more quickly.
    • Small cameras, binoculars and cell phones may be carried in loosely or in an approved clear bag.
There are no provisions to check items at the gates. Guests will be asked to either take prohibited items back to their car or dispose of prohibited items at the gate. The Orlando City Stadium and its affiliates are not responsible for items left behind, lost, stolen, or damaged." (http://www.ussoccer.com/schedule-tickets/20171006-us-mnt-vs-panama-match-guide)

I like your style. The "Hotel Airport Floor" is usually the cheapest option--perfect for quick turnarounds or overnight layovers.

I have never seen left luggage at USA airports

Too bad I use it all the time in Europe

They're rare in the US at all, but some places still have small lockers on the secured (gate) side.
I'm leaning towards this, and also realizing that maybe a 12"x6"x12" bag is big enough for a few basics. Thanks!

Well just for comparison. I took a 7am flight from home, and a 7am flight back. I didn't really feel I needed anything but I did bring a small cell phone charger. I did want to change my shirt after but it was easy enough to just survive it until the next morning when I got home.

Definitely worth the $150 that some hotels wanted.

I've never had a problem with just tipping a hotel bellman to hold a bag for me.

Anyone know what section the Outlaws are sitting in? I'd driving up to Orlando for the game with the wife and would like to sit as close to the madness as possible.

Ticketmaster shows most tickets sold, and just about anything available is resale. Place is probably going to be littered with Panamanians

I'll be there!! Ticket_2[1].jpg Although I am not a happy camper today...Yesterday Colombia was 3 minutes away from punching their tickets to Russia, as we were beating Paraguay 1-0, (Falcao's goal, who else!), but then disaster struck as Par scored 2 goals, last one in injury time to postpone the agony until the last match Tuesday @ Peru!! Ohh the nightmares of S. American qualifiers!!
BTW, Messi fans might not get to see their boy in Russia as Argentina sits currently in 6th place, with just ONE match remaining!
Orlando Stadium is very nice, compact, Soccer-specific venue, great views from any seat really, if anybody was worried about that, and I REALLY hope the USA doesn't give me a double dose of pain!! Let's be thankful that they don't have to qualify thru Conmebol!!

The funny thing is that Brazil holds the key to Argentina's door to Russia. If Brazil, which has already clinched the first spot with three rounds to spare, were to send a team C against Chile just to lose, Argentina would be out. I'm sure many Brazilians would be tempted. Not sportsmanlike, but the rivalry being what it is...

Me, even though I support Brazil, I want Argentina to qualify. A World Cup without Argentina is significantly less fun.

I think the issue is that there is fear that bombs might be placed in luggage placed in lockers outside the secure areas.

The solution is to walk into the closest hotel (all airports are surrounded by hotels) and pay a fee to leave your luggage there with the bellman. No hotel objects to that even if you are not a guest.

I know it's too late, the game is about to start, but for future reference, if you want to be absolutely sure that you can leave your luggage at a hotel, make a reservation for the next day, make sure it is refundable and can be cancelled. Then show up at the hotel with your bag, and say - I have errands today in town and will sleep elsewhere tonight, but tomorrow I have a reserved room here, so I'm not ready to check in today, but would like to deposit my luggage."

Then when you are done you go back to the hotel and say "something came out, I have to abort this trip short, so I want my luggage back and I'm cancelling the reservation."

    Done.

Make sure you don't repeat the same trick in the same hotel, though... LOL

Just made it home from my trip to Orlando. Great experience overall. I'd say it was the best full-stadium atmosphere at a home qualifier I've attended other than Mexico games in Columbus. The stadium is a gem, and they did a good job connecting the stadium area to the downtown bar/entertainment district a few blocks east. A festive pre and post-game scene all over in the streets, as there is no real parking lot for the stadium.

Yeah that stadium and atmosphere were amazing. Probably the best of the entire cycle.

Incredibly disappointed with the so called US "fans" who sat around me and spent half the game yelling ***** you Bradley and Altidore.
