And.......... there is a reason Barcelona players don't get called up to the NT. Always choke when playing international cups.

Banguera looks like he's going to have a great season. His second semester last year was good and he seems to be in a great moment. Let's see if Azcona can hold his ground in Olimpia b/c there will be competition now.

Looks like Gabriel Cevallos just joined really suck there wasnt more done on Liga part to keep him but at least I know this guy is going to have a solid future there Lanza wont be there for long and eventually he will give Baguera some good competition.

This team is full of talent I really hope players like Aleman get loaned out to a team in first division to get some playing time. He could really pull a team like Macara, El Nacional, or Clan Juvenile forward. I really forgot Abel Casquete was in BSC LOL saw him score the other day.

I caught the second half but they played great.. man it sucks that alvez and marques are out, so our next game will be one of the toughest yet, luckily first game is at home and Brazilan teams have yet to win at Monumental. In 6 matches against Brazilian teams, Barcelona have only lost 1 game. If we get past Gremio that'll be back to back Ecuadorian finalists for Libertadores and hopefully the title this year

Yea dude it sucks that Alvez got a red card he knows that at this level of competitions he not going to get away doing those kinds of things and there a lot at stake. Hopefully Ariel is fit for the game vs Germio and as for Marques they got Oswaldo Minda and Castillo.

They were playing a great game offensively up until those red card I thought it was over after that but Defense did nice and Almada made the right subs.

I remember after that game in Brazil vs. Botafogo telling my cousins, BSC is making their return to the top in this Copa Libertadores. They've been an absolute terror to the Brazilian teams. I still think it was dumb that you guys let go of Cristian Aleman. That little guy never convinced me until I saw him in Libertadores earlier this year. His price tag would've sky rocketed in the Libertadores. But then again, it is elevating with him being a starter in a big team like Estudiantes. Either way, congrats to you all, but watch out with Jonathan Alvez. He may be your savior now, but he can be the nail in your coffin if he plays stupid. When you play these big games, you always need a few players on this team with a leveled head that can bring the calm and order into full effect before things go south. I think that's been a BSC problem. Sometimes it's Diaz, sometimes it's Alvez, sometimes it's Marquez, etc. It's what makes me have that slight doubt that makes me feel like BSC is vulnerable. It would be horrible to let 1990 and 1998 repeat themselves again. If it's pure futbol, I'd bet right now that BSC and River play the final. I could tell from the group stage games that they were going far...but BSC players, press, and sometimes even the dirigentes get hot headed and think they won it all before even playing the game.

Gremio is a tougher opponent than Santos, but I will say that Palmeiras was one of the toughest teams to knock out in the cup and if you guys could do that than Gremio is DEFINITELY doable. Besides BSC and maybe River, Palmeiras can knock down any other team in this cup. They were a main candidate to win the cup IMO. San Lorenzo sucks and Lanus isn't anything special. Emelec is better than both IMO, but unfortunately those penalties played them dirty. With a little more luck Emelec would've been the one facing River in the semi-final this year...but that's where their story would've ended. BSC and River are the best of the cup. I think if that final ends up happening, it'll be a great game to watch.

Bro I was surprised Estudiantes actually picked him up. I thought this guy was never going to find consistency or the playing time he deserved. He had me convinced when he put in 2 or 3 beautiful assists vs Fuerza Amarilla I think it was he came off bench and I think it was either his debut or one of the first official games he played with them. But then he didnt have to much playing time or many other games where he could display his futbol. Remember BSC was actually considering loaning him to Clan Juvenile cause he wasnt getting playing time.

The good thing about Aleman moving to Estudiantes is that he found consistency and became a consolidated starter. In BSC he would start some games or come off bench others. He had to compete with Diaz, Caicedo, Castillo, Ayovi, Esterilla, Casquete, Vera.

In Estudiantes he would display his futbol at top level. He is wonderful to watch the passes he makes are beautiful. Remember when Cazares was riding bench in BSC. Sometimes it just better to let a player go and find their futbol. Estudiantes was a good move for him futbol wise and career wise. Estuduantes have him on loan so BSC will make some money and its worth letting this guy get playing time in a top team BSC can bank off other players if they want to.

Alvez should be back for the away trip to Brazil.

But really good stuff from Barcelona. I haven't seen an Ecuadorian team ever play like they have.

They're able to play both possession and counter-attacking well. That's why the teams that play against them always have to go on the defensive.

I really hope that's the case and is back for away game.If these referees had any balls the spitting Brazilian should have been shown a red right away, and really these teams from the most southern part of SA always pull this BS.

I dislike Brazilian teams for that reason. They spend more time diving than actually playing the game.

And Barcelona I saw were going to appeal the decision but if it does stand, it's only a one match ban. The same thing would apply to Marques but for him I'm not sure because he pushed and spit on the player so it might be a multiple match ban.

We have subs for Marquez' spot but not for Alvez.

So 1 game suspension for Alvez and 3 for Marques.

Still think they should have fought the Alvez suspension more (because the 2nd yellow wasn't a foul) but whatever.

It’s pretty much over. Without Alvez I knew it would be hard to overcome. Good run though.

They're feeling the loss of Marques heavily too.

Minda sucks and Nahuelpan is so easy to defend because he's so static.
