The FA WSL moves to the winter season as the FA have decided to align the League with the big European Leagues.

There have been a couple of moves already :

Vivianne Miedema from FC Bayern to Arsenal
Mie Jans from Brondby to Manchester City
Yana Daniels from Anderlecht to Bristol

That article links to an even more detailed interview with Aluko:
    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/aug/21/eni-aluko-interview-race-difficult-situation

If even just half of what she said is true, this is disgraceful and disgusting. i don't know personally either Aluko nor Sampson, but, based on the impression they made to me when I saw them on the pitch or being interviewed, I am more inclined to believe Aluko than that conceited coach. I know, it's just personal impressions, nothing to do with the "truth". Just wanted to give them to you for what they are, guys, nothing more. Since I can't make a personal investigation about the subject, just wanted to say that If I was hard-pressed to make a bet about who's telling the truth here (or, at least, most of the truth: it never uses to be by just one side), I'd probably put my money on Aluko. But, since I don't know her personally nor I've got any insider information about the incidents, that's nothing more than an educated guess.

For what concerns your question, @hotjam2, when you wonder if "this could be the end of Mark Sampson", I've got the feeling that, whoever is telling the truth, it looks like the Federation has been trying with all its might to sweep everything under the rug, so I am afraid that, if there is any indication, it's that they want to keep on with Sampson at all costs, no matter what.

Mmm, you mean you know something we don't know about this?

Yes, it's possible, but it's not clear how. If you don't want to speak about this, why provoking us with this post? :p

The biggest problem is so many rumours have been flying around for a while and it is impossible to know the truth.
Aluko, Asante and Sanderson have clearly been kicked out by Sampson but players like Daly, Davison and Flaherty ave also suddently disappeared from the squads...

If these players (at least partly) were dropped for reasons that have nothing to do with football it would be very sad, but in fact it's in a coach's right to choose which players to call and it is difficult to prove that there was a prejudice. I guess the real point is knowing if Sampson and the staff actually made or didn't make racial remarks or other kind of intimidations: or do you think it's possible that Aluko made this stuff up to justify her dismissal? :cautious:

Aluko is a lawyer by trade, she would not make stuff up. And the FA inquiries look botched.

from yesterday, here's another article on it. One thing of note; Aluko, keeps mentioning an unidentified player who she claims was also part of Sampson's alleged racism, yet that particular person has yet to come forward. So hence, Aluko's claims are still yet to be verified.by others.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ark-sampson-despite-fresh-allegations-racism/

i personally didn't care about Sampson' tactics or picks for his NT squad. But I've got to give credit for him(partially) for the recent surge of interest in woso in England. They've gotten the biggest investments along with some of the bigger crowds in Europe/ over the latest couple of years. Take it in part due their WC success

So why do you say that "it is impossible to know the truth"? You seem to share my same impression, that the truth is mostly on one side of the dispute... :cautious:

It seems none of the current internationals want to speak, only those who are out of the set-up are backing up Aluko.

Well, what do we do of this? If the atmosphere inside the team would be as intimidating as Aluko describes it and players see that FA strongly defends Sampson no matter what, it would be understandable (even if not justifiable) if no-one were particularly keen to speak out.

By the way, there is a part of Aluko's interview with The Guardian that should be quite easy to verify. She said:

"Lianne Sanderson hasn’t been picked since she complained about why her 50th cap was forgotten on the same trip that the 100th cap of a white player was remembered. Lianne asked: ‘Why me?’ The 50th cap is a customary celebration. It’s standard. There is a presentation in front of the team and you have a special shirt with ‘50th cap’ written on it. It’s a big deal. She asked why she had been forgotten and she hasn’t been picked since".

The part about 50th cap celebration being "customary" and it being skipped in Sanderson's case should be quite obvious fact-checking: almost anyone could confirm if it's true or not. Also, it should be nearly as easy to know if Sanderson actually "asked why" or "complained" about that and, anyway, if "she hasn't been picked since".
All those points are so easy to investigate that they could even be within the reach of some of us on this thread, I guess.

Latest idea from the FA is to force all WSL teams to become full-time and relegate to the second tier and the part-time ( semi-pro team). As it could happen for 2018/19, on the pitch results for 2017/18 would not matter if you do not have enough cash.

Money talks, if the FA gets the agreement from the clubs.

Well its good that they are slowly turning all WSL Teams/players to become full-time, like what Everton has been doing with their players.

now even Katie Chapman is picking on Sampson........and the reason?... cause she told him she was getting a divorce!
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...rk-sampson-stopped-picking-herafter/#comments

I personally would of picked Chapman for Euros,; she's one of the roughest, if not one of dirtiest players around. Certainly be good to rouse up &/to take an opposing player out of her rhythm. but Sampson obviously had his reasons(he likes more disciplined players) and Katie's now 35 years of age.

Well, they could say as loud as they want that it's not related to Aluko's allegations, but I've got the feeling that it would have never happened if Aluko hadn't raised her voice. It's not just my feeling, they write it plain and clear in the article itself: "It is understood claims made by the former England striker Eni Aluko to the Guardian of bullying, harassment and racial remarks prompted a whistleblower outside the FA to urge Glenn to read the full report into safeguarding allegations made against Sampson".

Now I wonder what will happen, both on the sport-side and on the human-side. Of course, the federation will have to replace Sampson very quickly, since there are World Cup qualification matches underway, and, independent from who will be chosen as the new coach, I wonder how these events will affect England's performance.
Sport-side apart, I am also worried about human relationships inside the team. What I had noticed yesterday in the Friendlies thread is confirmed in the article: "After the first goal went in all 11 players, including the goalkeeper, sprinted to embrace him in the dugout, an orchestrated demonstration of support for the manager in the wake of the Aluko allegations". Now, I wonder how this players who strongly supported Sampson could get along with players as Aluko, Spence, Sanderson and Chapman, should they get a call by the new coach. On the other hand, what's the chance that the new coach keep ignoring these people, after what happened? It would be embarassing from him/her.
So I do wonder about the evolution of team's general chemistry after that.

In fact I would be happy to know more about the Bristol allegations and their gravity, since the Guardian's article doesn't disclose much about that.

But your link doesn't work for me, @hotjam2.

Oh, don't complain that the forum is dead: we are more alive than one could expect, with all of those shiny social media around. But we resist quite decently. ;)
