While Iran clearly deserves being ranked #1 in the AFC right now given Iran's impressive record, until we face Japan in a meaningful match, it is really hard for anyone to confidently say we are necessarily better than Japan. My own sense is that if the two sides faced one another in a serious match, the result would not favor Japan. In other words, I don't think Japan beating Iran would be likely at all. The game would either end in a draw (most likely result) or possibly a win for Iran. The chances of Japan beating Iran would be less than either of the latter 2 propositions in my book.
Why are we talking about this? Im sure the fans of SK/Uzbekistan/Syria with their hearts in their throats would tell ypu to settle down if they could Saw a source that said Ansari .. Taremi+ Ansarifard are starting tomorrow. CQ might be rotating but I expect the win regardless
You said 10 Japanese started for their club, but 8 of 10 teams lost , and no goals and no assists from them, 4 of them were subbed out. Only Inter won, but when Nagatomo was playing, it was 0-1, after he subbed out , Inter scored 3 and won 3-1. I can't be optimistic. So far Okazaki(scored 2 goals), Yoshida, H Sakai(despite heavy loss agasint Monaco) started good season. But I don't know Okazaki can keep his starting position , as competion is so hard. Yoshida has been playing greate from last year, but I don't know he can keep his starting position after van Dijk has fully recovered (as other CD is a young promising English man). Generally our atteckers had not good season last year while our defenders had good season. I hope many of them will have good season.
Nagatomo was subbed out because of a slight thigh injury. He contributed to the victory over Fiorentina in the opening game. Leicester bought Slimani (Algeria #1 striker) from Portugal and Musa (then Nigeria #1 striker) from Russia last year yet they failed to beat Okazaki. Yoshida just renewed his contract with Soutuampton and he even captains the club when Steven Davis isn't on the pitch. Inui was average last week but Marca gave him a 2/3, the highest rating of any Eibar player in the opening game. Shibasaki got a 2/3 in a row and has been quite good in his La Liga debut season. Muto has been above average getting a 3.5 in a row in Kicker's rating. Osako has just retuned from an injury and I'm not worried about him at all. Kagawa is Kagawa. He always delivers if he is healthy. I'm not a fan of Kagawa, though. My only disappointment is that Haraguchi is benched at Hertha. Please stop talking complete nonsense. You are an extremely pessimistic fan or just a troll.
Amazing to think that depending on how this goes... Uzbekistan could finish either 2nd or 5th on the night....
HT : UZB 0-0 KOR IAN 1-1 SYR With these results Korea has the second ticket To Russia, Syria goes to play off and Uzbekistan is out
It's a pity that Team Melli couldn't qualify with 0 goals conceded as that would've been a record going into the history books for Iranian Football, but they still haven't lost a damn game so congrats on that, and I can't believe I am saying this, but I thank your team and especially CQ for the great help in getting us through to our 9th WC appearance. May god bless this man.
Wow, South Korea qualified for the World Cup with merely 15 points and even 14 or 13 points would have been enough to get an automatic spot. It was probably never as easy as in this group to qualify for a World Cup in the past
Beiranvand and Rezaeian (was it him who did the backpass?) have been liabilities for months. I'm glad we found this out now than in our first WC game.
