Juve would have little use for the last three, like us. I wouldn't want to give up Locatelli, but in return for Marchisio they can have Allegri's long lost child if they want.

niang wants to decide where he's sold. ok. then tell torino they've got to pay up, idiot. if one club offers double what another offers, of course you're not going to the club offering less. either get your preferred club to match the offer, or rot on the bench here. i can't blame him for not wanting to go to russia, but it sounds like he has a fundamental misunderstanding of how this business works.

He understands it perfectly, it's his agent playing games as usual. It's a shame that Raiola always helps other teams and not us(tho maybe he did with Ibra/Balo before).

That being said, 20mil to Russia or 12mil to Torino, especially when they wouldn't negotiate with Belotti, means they can F off. Supposedly Niang was promised bonuses if he was sold by old management which new management won't honor because no "official" contract terms so there's some bad blood recently. 15mil + bonuses is my lowest offer, otherwise he sits on bench and plays coppa italia games.

Love the way we brought in basically a new team in addition to the good players we already have. I'd like one winger to come in (Forsberg?) and a midfielder that is box to box to replace Kessie if injured or hurt. Kampf or Rafinha or PSG guy Kryposkopsi sp*. Renato Sanches is my dream midfielder but I'm not sure if we can pull that off.

    Other than that, 10/10 mercato.

that may be the case, but there are quotes coming directly from the player himself. if it's the agent, let the agent make the quotes. players should keep their mouths shut. (obviously that's what a lawyer would say, right? wishful thinking on my part.)

i'm happy with the mercato too, but i think we ought to wait until christmas to rate it. rating it now is like a preseason football poll. no one knows how things are going to shake out. looks good on paper, but we'll have to see.

i really hope we don't end up paying 40M for diego the mercenary costa before the window closes. the guy is a cancer. he's a monster on the field and scores tons of goals, but he's just the worst. i've followed chelsea pretty closely over the last few years. despite the goals, he's not a guy i'd want on our team. i'd give it a month and a half before he's back to moaning about wanting to go to atleti in january. hard pass.

and, yes, by all means bring in another #8 midfielder to spell kessie. i'd just worry about another expensive new face taking away some minutes from our young guys from the academy.

You are right about Niang, tho I feel like it's a ploy for Milan to be forced to sell to where they want to go w/o allowing proper negotiations. Either Torino for 12mil or nothing, which is screwed up. So perhaps Raiola is telling him to say this stuff on purpose.

Rating the mercato now is silly, you're right, BUT the guys we've signed have all looked great so far. Will we win EL & Scudetto, maybe, prob not, BUT all the players we signed are upgrades to last hear AND younger for a great plan for future.

I hope Costa doesn't come either. Cutrone, Silva, Kalinic are all viable options at CF. Bring in a winger that will be able to replace Niang on bench and fill in for Suso/Calhangolu/Bona and our attack is set.

One more midfielder, especially now Sosa is leaving is needed.

I think ownership and management have built white the foundation on players. We shouldn't be spending 200mil every year, but now that the blueprint is set up, next year we can add to missing pieces. Very exciting times!!

Torino have reached a deal with Milan for M’Baye Niang, a loan with obligation to buy for €20m.

good riddance, niang. he's been a poor man's balotelli from the start. i'm glad we got good value for him, but i'm not sure what torino see there.

Hopefully he performs well for them, would help set the stage for a possible Belotti sale in the winter mercato or next summer.

So no last day "gift". I can't say Im shocked because we were very proactive at the beginning of market and Id say Bonucci was our "whale". I think Kalinic/Silva/Cutrone is a nice mix of CFs. Suso/Calhanglu/Bonaventura/Borini on the wing is perfectly fine. I do think we needed another midfielder to the mix but I guess they felt comfortable with Montolivo/Biglia/Locatelli rotating in and out of that 3rd spot if Kessie/Bonaventura are out. Defense is solid as can get tbh.

I do like how we secured that young Pellegri kid for Jan(I think). Good talent apparently so nice to see us thinking long term as well. January we can go for a winger or midfielder if need be.

With this team, I think we can push for top 4 and easily get out of group stage of EL. Come January, we reassess, and make a move OR next summer make a big splash for a winger to help push us over the edge for CL.

Great mercato. Wish we got a lil more money for sales, but I guess it just shows how bad it was. So many loan with option to buys...

i think there are several loans with obligation to buy in there, but it is what it is. we signed the players to their contracts. we've got to honor them or do the best we can to mitigate the cost.

i agree with your sentiment overall though. we can't complain, especially after the dismal transfer activities over the last however many years. let's just hope the club can make the payments to the hedge fund when they're due so we don't get repossessed.

Agreed. I've followed so many different accounts on Twitter so I'm not sure which is official. As you said, hope the club can make the payments w/o needing cash now, but it is what it is. I think 60mil total is what we gained back from sales which isn't so bad.

Next year, make that big splash to put us over the edge.
