I've seen threads like this on other teams boards, or articles like this on different sites. I always think it's pretty cool. We have over 20 years of history now. We might as well start cataloging some of the more important and impressive moments in our beloved club's history.

I figured for April 27th, we don't have to go too far back. In 2013 we were playing longtime and original rivals DC United. Jairo Arrietta was the catalyst of our attack. Dominic Oduro was loving Papa Johns somwehere. Glauber was building his legend on the back line.

We sent those bastards home with a 3-0 defeat.

    And this happened.....

One of the best renditions of the national anthem the day the scoreboard burned to the ground. What a night.

Wasn't that what sold Precourt on the club too? "This team is so hot, the scoreboard is on fire!"

I think it was more like "Damn, I can get this team at a pretty good discount!"

It would have been great to be in the heads of HSG when they looked up and saw that thing on fire.

On this day in 2013, Federico Higuain chipped Luis Robles to seal a 2-0 home win over the MetroStars, and the "Pipa Chip" was born. #Easton

On this day in 2001 Tom Fitzgerald was dismissed as Head Coach and replaced on an interim basis by Greg Andrulis.

Greg eventually had the interim removed from his title and went on to win two major trophies for Columbus Crew, a total not yet eclipsed by any Crew SC coach, making Andrulis arguably the most successful coach in this franchises long and storied history.

    Today, let us remember Excellence.

That's a scary thought and I suppose, all the more reason to hate Seattle. If Seattle hadn't started in 2009, Sigi would more than likely be our winningest coach.

We can all say what we want now about Greg Andrulis (not that anyone needs my permission), but one of the most satisfying memories I have as a Crew fan was his first game as coach. Beating DC United in overtime while playing with nine men was one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen live.

Yeah, that was a great game. The team rallied under the new coach and there was even a St Greg thread here. Then it all went downhill.

On this day in 2001 the trajectory of our beloved club was changed forever.

General Manager Ned Flanders Jim Smith removed the interim tag from Head Coach Greg Andrulis.

Andrulis, one of the most dedicated and successful servants of our club, lifted Columbus to heights only dreamed of under the current regime. A few years later, Greg was shown the door, but not before bringing Columbus our first two major trophies, a US Open Cup and Supporters Shield.

What a day in Crew history.

Which then prolonged how long we kept him around until the FO was finally forced to make a change around the same time Sigi became available. So, really, he's also responsible for our MLS Cup as well.

    Hail Andrulis!

On this day in 2005, one of the few halcyon periods in Columbus Crew history came to an end. Multiple time Champion, the Headmaster of Hardware, the Collector of Cups, the Tactician's Tactician Gregg Andrulis was relieved of his duties.

Crew Legend Robert Warzycha was named interim Head Coach.

I'm sorry but why would you sully the Headmaster of Hardware's name with an extra "g." That's positively Berhalterian.
