Here is the all-in-one comprehensive thread to track the great exploits of the already legendary Timo Werner.
Grand Theft Football, Timo Werner. The talent of the century, commits the robbery of the century. https://my.mixtape.moe/ahudpz.mp4
The Confederations Cup was basically too easy for Werner. #ConfedCup | @adidas Golden Boot:Timo Werner 🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/sRbOeiKF7o— FIFA (@FIFAcom) July 2, 2017 Timo Werner was directly involved in more goals (5) than any other player at the 2017 Confederations Cup.3 ⚽️2 🅰️Golden Boot. ✅ pic.twitter.com/QTf7fljcTM— Squawka (@Squawka) July 2, 2017 Most goals scored at the 2017 Confederations Cup:🇩🇪 Timo Werner (3)🇩🇪 Leon Goretzka (3)🇩🇪 Lars Stindl (3)Germany clean sweep. ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/2GEpl1c5Sk— Squawka (@Squawka) July 2, 2017
Let's go Werner. 1st Golden Boot for a senior NT Tourney in his 1st tournament, as well as his 1st ever top scorer award (non youth). Here's hoping this is just the beginning for this kid!!!!
also f*ck all those fans that booed and jeered him since Fall. Even while representing their country. Props to Werner for not letting this shit get to him and show his class at the tourney for Germany.
I guess Swabians still aren't too fond of him. He remains as public enemy #1 over there after leaving Stuttgart.
He had stagnated at Stuttgart and the move east saved his potential from being squandered. If Vfb fans are bitter about things, they should be bitter about their own management turning their club into an absolute mess.
Indeed. There were definitely moments in the previous 2 years, that I think most of us here were concerned about Werner's development. The move to RB Leizpig remains enigmatic to many, but we cannot doubt the significance it has made in helping Werner achieve this career breakthrough.
LOL at the British pundits. Some were like, Werner was so lucky that the Chilean made a mistake and it was an easy tap in. Same lot praised Sanchez when he made Musatfi blunder. (bias much) problem with that is that Werner's pressing and movement is what forced the error. Basically him and Stindl double teamed the guy one on each side. Then he draws Bravo as close as possible before passing to an empty Stindl.
German CC All time scorers 1-Ballack------4 goals in 6 games +1 Assist (3 out 4 goals were penalties) 2-Werner-------3 goals in 4 games+2 Assist (1st and only Golden Boot winner) 3-Podolski------3 goals in 4 games+1 Assist 4/5-Stind, Goretzka-----3 goals pretty good especially given that Ballack's goals were 75% penalties. And Werner played 2 games less too.
one more stat Timo Werner for club and country in 2016/17:38 games 🏃24 goals ⚽️7 assists 🅰️A superb talent. ⭐️ pic.twitter.com/4scD5EAPZ0— Squawka (@Squawka) July 2, 2017
Jaaaa Klein Miro The best German striker, and just step behind Lewa and Auba BL striker. THE Future Gomez man bench smile to you
Didn't they do the same with Kimmich? [emoji50] I despise RB, but have to give credit where it's due, Timo has such potential
Here's Werner's importance to the team. CC GS1-Sub appearance, had a few chances, including hitting the post GS2-Unused sub Now comes the Werner Effect GS3-starter, 2 Goals Semi-starter, 1 Goal and 1 Assist Final-stater, 1 Assist every game he's started at the CC he's been involved. Doesn't include all his pressing/movement as well as missed chances.
Best German attacker by far. I like how he's constantly a threat to every defence with his speed and dangerous runs in behind the defense. Also he can pass the ball (beautiful assist to Goretzka vs Mexico) and not what I call a selfish player either. Young as well and has time to develope as a player before Russia next year. should've scored some more goals tho, but that will come with experience and more games. Any big clubs interested in him??
There's the usual cliché reports you'd hear linking him to EPL. But Werner is fine where he is right now. RB Leipzig have put together a competitive squad with Werner being one of the team's centerpieces. They'll also be playing in the Champions League. There's no rush to move him out too soon as he continues to collect experience.
