two most important positions are striker and goalkeeper. always have been. always will be. have world class players in these two positions and you will never go into a match knowing that its a loss. while everyone else fights to either create chances (basically useless) or stop the opposing team from creating chances (equally useless if not more) these two fight to convert/save goals, the most meaningful stat in the sport

    My biggest wish against Qatar:
We play horrible "possession football" Stielike style and it's 0-0 until the 90 min. Then HHC scores a goal and we win 1-0. Then KFA says "enough is enough" and adios Stielike, and we get a different manager...
...different manager...kfa hiring a different manager...actually scratch everything that I just wrote.

i want to say ahn hyunbeom isnt national team quality but then again who the hell is in his position. i think people (including senilike and whomever else comes after him) just need to accept that it wont get much better than lee yong. lee yong hasnt been playing too well but his form should pick up at some point

When's the last time SHM had a good game for US? He does his job for Tottenham but always lets us KNT fans down. always.

I think it is pretty obvious that depending on the result against qatar, his fate will be determined.

Why surprised? Never was a fan of Shin Tae-yong nor was I fond of the idea of him taking the KNT helm. Having watched Shin Tae-yong's 4 year tenure with Seongnam, non of his managerial problems that are currently being spoken about is anything new, and those who've also followed Seongnam during that time frame (Or long time fans) would know that very well. It was a matter of when it was going to happen and or implode.

Apparently, some folks are still too hung up on his ACL success to even still consider him as a potential candidate. Yes, he deserves the credit for the ACL success in 2010, but you can't discount/exclude his failures with Seongnam during the latter of his tenure, and let's not even go on about Choi Yong-soo either.

The senile one has been spared one too many times already, a loss against Qatar should do the damage.

I miss my long lost friend Dženan Radončić. I used to chat with him via facebook while he was getting his citizenship exams.... Shin Tae yong couldnt manage him :( now hes a nobody in the 2nd division back home.

I'm still a bit skeptical with a draw since the KFA's excuse would be "We didn't lose", but then again it will still put the KFA in the hot seat considering that we have two tough matches against Iran and Uzbekistan remaining.

Hijacking this thread by digressing but heres a little transcript between me and him back in the days... hope you enjoy!

Sorry if its not organized ,i wanted to deliver it as original as possible

    Me

    Hey

    11:11pmDzenan

    hi

    11:11pmMe

damn i couldnt catch the match cuz i live in singapore,

    i heard you scored two

    nice brace

    Dzenan

but it was on star sports

    11:12pmMe

was it? oh well couldnt see it

    11:12pmDzenan

    and some link on internet

    11:12pmMe

what's up with the grass at tancheon?

is it because of the typhoon or what?

    11:13pmDzenan

    wet season

    to humid

    11:13pmMe

hahahah Suwon's boss is crying like a baby

    11:13pmDzenan

    i know

but we beat them again for sure

    they r bad

    11:14pmMe

bad in the sense as in bad team? or spoil sport?

I agree that they are not being pro

    11:14pmDzenan

    they play bad

    11:14pmMe

    ppong chukko?

    Dzenan

we could've beat them in the league to

    11:15pmMe

i guess its the boss's fault

    11:15pmDzenan

    just couldnt score

    11:15pmMe

because they have good players at suwon

    Dzenan

    well yeah

    11:15pmMe

head for head on paper, suwon's team is much better than seongnam

    11:15pmDzenan

but they dont play good agains us

    11:15pmMe

and that;s coming from a seongnam fan

    Dzenan

    dedf

    def

    we have 7 rookies playing

and poor ground and no facilities for training

but still we are there on top

    its mentallity

    11:17pmMe

    shit that's deep bro

    Dzenan

    i know

tancheon ie worse then the pitch in my home town in 3rd division

but what can i do about it

    i actually play well there

    haha

    11:19pmMe

i respect that, koreans are too damn spoilt

    in their damn comfort zone

the K-league needs more players like you

to show them in their face, that it's all down to mentality

    11:21pmDzenan

well some clubs have good players

but still they play here like they dont want to play anywhere else

i know its not easy to go abroad

but still there are some kids who can play the ball

    11:22pmMe

how do you rate yoo byung soo?

is this guy the same guy as the media proclaims to be?

you should know better, as you see him on the pitch

    Dzenan

i dont know what are they saying

he is ok but from what i see he already thinks he is star player

    11:23pmMe

    this is the fundamental problem

    11:24pmDzenan

    for sure

but as i said he thinks he is the best but that is not enough to take him some place abroad

    i wish

but that is just my oppinion

    11:26pmMe

    I totally agree

i was just curious why the stupid media always talk about this kid

    11:26pmDzenan

they talk coz he is the top scorer

but as i was in incheon

    poor team

and not many players can score

    11:27pmMe

oh thats why they put the spot light on him

    11:27pmDzenan

    i m happy for him

    11:27pmMe

like he's the messiah for incehon

    Dzenan

but he needs to work more

    hahah

    maybe

    11:27pmMe

same case for lee geun ho

    11:27pmDzenan

that is first korean player that is doing well in that team

    Me

your ex team mate, al beit second division

    11:27pmDzenan

    in 6

    years

    i know

    its not easy here

    to many players

    and just one pro league

and not many can go abroad

    Me

that is something i didnt know that deep

the media in korea, they do a good job in putting other leagues down

to the point that, they think it is easy to go abroad

    11:30pmDzenan

    hehe

well korean league is probably the best in Asia

but still not many koreans play in Japan

    or else where in Asia

    11:32pmMe

maybe in terms of results korean league is the best in asia

    11:32pmDzenan

    till this year though

    11:32pmMe

but in terms of infrastructure and fan base, its not

    Dzenan

well there are four korean teams in final 8

    fans no way

but we have world cup stadiums

    11:33pmMe

    so deos japan

    11:33pmDzenan

but you cant compare fans in korean

    and japan

    i played there many times

and if i dont get korean citizenshipp soon

    11:34pmMe

u were on loan there i know

    11:34pmDzenan

that is my next destination probably

    11:34pmMe

    OH SHIT

    GET IT NOW

    Dzenan

    wish i could

    they asked me tonight to

i just said i had it on my mind a year or so ago

    and i still have it

that is why i m here

    11:36pmMe

u mean a lot of japanese interest huh?

i think you fit better in korea to be honest, you would challenge yourself

    better

    11:36pmDzenan

    yes for sure

    but i m resisting still

    i dont know til when

i fit here well and i m here

    11:37pmMe

i know that, but if you want the money you go there bro

    Dzenan

i want to make it official

    11:37pmMe

but if you want to be something more, i bet you my life you would be a hero in the hearts of koreans

    11:37pmDzenan

    i get the money anywhere

    that is not an issue

    11:38pmMe

a lot of koreans are betting on you to

    become a korean

not just because of your potential as a player

but as a person, a human being

that is willing to serve a foreign nation

    11:38pmDzenan

    thanks for that

i spent best years of my life here

    11:39pmMe

because not many koreans have that

    basic aspect in their heart

    11:39pmDzenan

    i can leave of course

    but as i said

i m staying here coz i have a feeling about the people

    coutry

    i know the language

    i know the culture

    some traditional stuff

    and so on

and maybe if i get korean citizenship and i become a national team player

i want to organize a game betwen korea and montenegro

maybe they will see that i was not to far for them as they said

    just for fun

    11:42pmMe

for the sake of yourself, pls dont give up your hope. you deserve it and

always remember that you have spent more than 5 years in that country, so make sure thats not wasted

    11:43pmDzenan

    i m hoping

ibenn here almost 7 years now

    we wil see

end of this season is crucial

    for sure

    seongnam is in financial problems

    Me

    this doesnt sound good

    11:44pmDzenan

and lots of thing going on

    11:44pmMe

help me understand, the owner of the club is filthy rich

    i just dont undestand whyyyyyy

    damn

the country is not a footballing country

    Dzenan

    yes but he retired

    his sons took over

and guys dont think that footbal can bring them any money

    11:45pmMe

they own a religion for gods sake

    11:46pmDzenan

they cut down finances from last year in

    half

    11:46pmMe

    shit

    11:46pmDzenan

and from next year another 30%

    so long seongnam

    its funny

    but its the truth

    i realy like it here

    Me

    its ********in sad

    11:47pmDzenan

    not many fans

    but people are nice

    but still

    11:47pmMe

dzenan, why dont you go to a club like pohang

    they are football mad

    11:48pmDzenan

    haha

that is the thing about me

i can only go to a club near seoul

i m single for god sake

    11:48pmMe

    seoul then

    incheon

    Dzenan

    cant live in pohang

    11:48pmMe

    suwon kkkkkkkk

    11:49pmDzenan

    back to incheon

    11:49pmMe

    go for it man

    your hometown

    Dzenan

    you never know

    11:49pmMe

    suwon = $$

    11:49pmDzenan

    i know

    they want me

    11:49pmMe

    THEN GO

    11:49pmDzenanMe

    good

    just whatever u do

    dont go to japan

    you've been there

    done that

actually suwon lacks a good manager

    11:50pmDzenan

so many good clubs there though

    Me

the only good ones are kashima, gamba osaka, urawa

thats it the rest is shit

    11:51pmDzenan

they all have lots of money

    and to many fans

    all stadiums are packed

    but what do you think

would i go to any other cub but the ones you mentioned

    hehh

    11:52pmMe

    hmmm

if i were you... i would kkkkk

but if i was being selfish

i wouldnt want you to see you play there

but really, the fans appreaciate the fact that you have been in K-League for so long

EVEN though they all know japan = $$

come on, think about it.. cabore, tavarez from pohang, and so many other foreign imports all left korea

after they did well in korea

    just because of $$$$$

    11:54pmDzenan

    of course

    Me

at least you are showing your commitment and loyalty

    11:55pmDzenan

    but people are diferent

i m waiting for my reward

    korean citizenship

    and national team jersey

then i can live in peace

that is just my goal for some time

    it was and still is

have no idea what can happen next year

    but i m hoping

that i will not have to leave this all behind me

i have so acheived so much here

this country gave me everything i have

    i mean materialistic

and i feel i have an obligation to give something back

    they want it

but its still not an easy quest here

coz they never had a foreigner playing fo national team

    comparing to japan

    11:58pmMe

thats why you can be the break through

    11:58pmDzenan

    wich they always do

    Me

the first one is always the most challenging

    11:58pmDzenan

    and i want to be

but if i dont do it

there will not be another player for very long time

    Dzenan

    this is my chance

    and korea chance

    lets see what's gonna happen

    12:01amMe

dzenan i have nothing to say

the only adivse i can give you now is

keep doing what you do best

    12:02amDzenan

that is only i can do

we will see what is future brings

    12:03amMe

dzenan, let me know if you have a chance to come visit to singapore

by the way, F1 is hapening here next week haha

    12:04amDzenan

    i was there last year

    Me

    12:04amDzenan

but if you come to korea

    12:04amMe

    12:04amDzenan

you need to organize that sh*t.

good stuff though. I don't think he would have been any help for our NT though to be honest. Always liked him for adapting to the culture in Korea.

Still doesn't excuse Shin Tae-yong for his comical transfers hence reducing the team's player quota.

LOL we're seriously derailing the thread but that's how we miss the good ol days where football was all about scoring goals... looking at our NT sigh....

Dzenan on the other hand is back home playing in the second division. It looks like sunday league football out there lol
