Like I said before: USA has a 70% Christian population. Has Christianity in it's law and constitution. Despite all this, the USA is in practice a secular country. Only a disingenuous or incredibly ignorant person would deny the difference in magnitude of social problems caused by Islam compared to all other religions in the world right now.
Tell me, which verses of the Quran and the Bible are you actually referring to? Look, you don't know, and you're never going to know, because you haven't read either. They're both very good reads. Come back when you've read them.
500 years ago? Try less than 50, not to mention ongoing sermonizing from marginalized Christian Identity sects that keep the flame alive from Elohim City and Westboro Baptist, to the just outside of mainstream types like John Hagee.
Am I the only person who gets really nervous when Germans start scapegoating and distorting a religion?
This sums up the difference between the Americans here who live in cities with a 1-2% muslim demographic and the Europeans who live in cities with a 10-20% muslim demographic.
Excactly. Thats what Ive described before. They feel comfortable in their opinion cause they believe they are fighting for liberal values like protection of minorites. They dont get that islam in itself is a deeply illiberal and intolerant ideology that doesnt deserve our tolerance since it is intolerant itself.
What are they supposed to do. This isn't a group of people standing outside the grocery store with a clipboard asking people to join ISIS.
Well, we've had some growing up to do since the Assimilation Period Yeah, you guys are on your own on this crusade
Fundamentalist Islam is intolerant, and that intolerance should not be tolerated. But that is but one aspect of Islam, and the rest is fine, as far as religions go.
You're right. It's not. But Christianity is undeniably intertwined with US law and politics though. Fact that you have to put your hand on the bible and swear to god in the court of law for instance, the face that you have "in God we trust" on your money, the fact that Christianity is in your declaration of independence, the fact that religion is in the presidents inauguration all point towards the fact that the US is not a fully secular nation yet.
Actually, you don't. Started int he 50's because of the fear of Communism There is no reference to Jesus in the DoI The guy in the robe is a judge, not a priest.
Are they any worse than the ones who think they can "Cure" gayness! With an AA type 12 step program. With lots of praying for forgiveness.
