Cheech crushed it last season and in September. Im not going to bump up anyone over him because of a couple months. Cheech still the best
In all competitions this season. Pulisic G+A rate: every 98.25 mins Chicharito G+A rate: every 135.33 mins Maybe the answer is Navas, although I think he's had a worse season than last season. I think there's a pretty good argument for Pulisic. Its not who's had the best career, its who's the best now. Pulisic is a starter on merit for a top 10 team in the world. Wouldn't matter if he's 18, 28 or 38.
Pulisic is not there, yet. Kid just turned 18 and, going by the recent US games, he is clearly the most talented American player and among the most talented in the region, but still has some physical maturing to do and isn't quite ready to be the center of attention for the national team.
We've got a CONCACAF player in the final of the Champions League today...................!!!! Best goalkeeper in CONCACAF at the moment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe three CONCACAF players have won the Champions League. Keylor will be gunning to be the first multiple time winner. In theory Marquez did, but he was injured in 2009 with Barca. Dwight Yorke (Manchester United 2-1 Bayern München, 1998/99) Rafael Márquez (Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal, 2005/06) Keylor Navas (Real Madrid 1-1 [5-3 penalties] Atletico Madrid, 2015-2016) Honarable mention of guys who won in theory, but didn't play in the final....................Jovan Kirovski, Jonathan dos Santos.
As far as I can tell, he's the only CONCACAF player to play in the final on the losing team..................... Here's a REALLY tough trivia question. Which CONCACAF player has made the most appearances in UEFA competition (Champions League & Europa League). Its so hard I'll just give the answer. I can post his picture and folks still may not get it.................. ...................Atiba Hutchinson of Canada.
The Champions league isn't a one off final it's a tournament and Rafa played in plenty of games. I take it you don't think that Dempsey won the MMLS title? Does Ronaldo not get to claim his Euro title because he got hurt?
Rafa played and got injured in the first leg of the semi-final against Chelsea. He was a complete starter that season, it's not like he just cruised along.
I had checked with this website to see who else had won the Champions League, and they didn't include Rafa in 2009. http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2323619.html I assumed they didn't include him that year for a reason. I wasn't trying to be controversial or anything. Sorry if folks got their panties all twisted.
I think it's fair to say Navas has been the best goalkeper from CONCACAF since 2014. Hats off to him. Though his performances have been weaker this season I believe.
