Not so sure. There was this big guy whose name I cannot remember who floated around England/Europe for a while, mostly as backups. I think some of it was in PL.

Those seem like forgotten names to many. I doubt anyone will forget Guzan's anytime soon. And not for positive reasons.

Big Brad with the 6th straight start.

Of goalkeepers to play 100 or more Premier League games, only Boaz Myhill (1.73) and Wayne Hennessey (1.71) have conceded more goals per game than Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Guzan (1.66, 253 in 152 games).

i do think some consideration should be given to having to play for years behind an atrocious defense.

Apparently, Boro fans were chanting for Guzan to get red carded today. I don't think the fans ever got over the fact that Valdes and Guzan supplanted their preferred choice for goalkeeper.

fans of those small clubs get real bitter when they're in the fire.

Supposedly Valdes may or may not still be injured and is ready to bounce from the club.

Brad denied the penalty! I didn't say saved.

*crossing fingers* Guzan gets a cleansheet and a good performance on his final game in the PL. Provided of course they don't play the Greek keeper so he gets 1 PL game for all his trouble.

I didn't see this coming a year ago. I just assumed it was all AV and that he'd return to some form with a move to a new club.

I am not sure that I will call Middlesbrough a small club.

You guys are under-appreciating Brad's status as a Boro anti-legend. The fans didn't like it when he arrived, hated it while he was there, celebrated when he got benched, and at some point went beyond the wall of disappointment and were rather humorous about the situation. They started marking Brad on a curve, so when he sucked all the comment was "well, Guzan was just Guzan" and done.

It's rare to see a player reach that status in a club, to go beyond the wall of disappointment like that. I think the only other YA this has happened to in recent memory was Jozy in Sunderland: "well, he tried but we all know he's like a fan put in there by the coach, can't really get mad at the guy any more."

So it was rather surprising when their fans started chanting to get him sent off a couple of days ago. Guess they were trolling, post-relegation.

Yeah foreign media don't really know that much about MLS and all that. Surprisingly, we're not the center of the world and it's not uncommon to find press articles out there that show abysmal knowledge of things USA-related.

playing almost 200 matches in all competition if you exclude his stint in Hull (2nd division).

It's kinda funny how he actually performed well in his few games at the beginning of the season. It's like all the hate from AV carried over and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy from the point of view of the highly critical fans.

    Guzan's last PL game.

    HT down 1-0 to Liverpool.
beaten on the near post just before the half.

had a very shaky 1st half.

    FT, 3-0 loss.
And a farewell to Guzan in the PL. Here's hoping he does well in the MLS. A League he hasn't played in since 2008, almost a decade ago.
