Yeah, not a stellar result, although I did like few things about the second half. It seemed team did not quit at least and tried to make something happen.
fiore got throttled by napoli yesterday so we can lock up our EL berth with a win against bologna today. bologna are safe from relegation. they really have nothing to play for other than ruining our season. let's hope we get an early goal and take them out of the game right away.
0-0 at half. we're attacking them, but we can't break through. lots of half chances, but we need to be more efficient.
3-0 ft. i was concerned when lapa's first was called back for offside, but deu got one right away after that. great to see honda on the score sheet on his way out. i was really excited to see him standing over that free kick. happy to see lapa get the third too. great first touch there to set it up and smash it home. i've never been so happy to finish 6th. onward and upward from here.
hell if we win the dam thing next season we automatically get in the champs league the following season. it's not that much a stretch for that to happen
of course. miha, inzaghi, brocchi, and Seedorf couldn't do it. plus our captain has been out alot of the year and our best outfield player (Bonaventura) too
Donnarumma, Romagnoli, Locatelli and co. is starting it off by winning the SuperCoppa. not much but it is technically winning something. I believe it's just the start
Rosay, i admire your optimism. I do think milan winning the europa league next season is a huge stretch though...there were only 2 italian teams in the round of 32 and none in the quarter finals. we got destroyed by a roma team that was beat by lyon that was beat by ajax.....i know that transitive property doesn't work well in sports, but it does say a little. what does speak more about our ability is that this season we lost to empoli, sampdoria, udinese (twice), genoa and these teams are currently 17th, 10th, 12th, 16th in a weak serie a...... Plus we still have to make it through the qualifying rounds. thats not a given.
weak serie A? It's been the most competitive this year in a while. we can get thru the qualifying rounds. winning the Europa won't be easy by any means. but we have the squad to do it and it will be a great experience for all our young guns
