Bench player in the paulistao, got
Like 7 starts in the serie b and gets signed in Portugal. I'm going to start tracking the serie b quality players who play well there.

Jefferson on Sporting came from Santa Cruz 3 years ago and was voted the best LB in the league last season. He couldn't even crack Santa Cruz's lineup. I feel like you baited me with this topic.

I don't know enough to formulate an opinion one way or the other, but just throwing out this possibility; what if Portugese teams are just good at scouting the talent that falls through the cracks in Brazil? For example, David Luiz went to Europe after playing just a few matches at Vitoria, a third-division club at the time. Lots of talent seems to get unnoticed or underdeveloped or whatever in Brazil, and that's natural with a country as large and as football-crazy as Brazil. Just some food for thought.

Not sure if DL is a good example though. Vitoria is still a traditional club that always had a strong youth system. DL didn't flop around the lower Brazilian divisions before landing in Portugal and finding success. He was a youth product that was recently promoted and who a large Portuguese club bought.

Apparently Tite was considering calling up a player named Tiquinho Soares, who flopped around on several small Gaucho and Northeast sides until he landed in Portugal. Apparently, he has torn it up at 3 clubs, including his current club, Porto.
