It's been about 3 weeks since any admin-type person posted in this thread. That radio silence has given me the distinct impression that what we have now is what we're going to have to live with.
Yes. Is that the link to add the " Edit" function? I could edit before, it's only in the last week that that function has gone away on my Android.
I can't disagree with you, although it's a shame because, as I repeatedly say, I don't think everything is ok. Maybe they're working on the remaining major problem, but there's no doubt that in this case some update from time to time would be appreciated. @soccernutter was the most active here. Anything to say about the subject?
Soccernutter is just a mod who took it upon himself to represent all of us, and compile our requests. It's the other folks that are either admins or better connected to the admins, who have been absent for some time now.
Wish I had more insite than you, but I don't. DK is the one who has the info. I'll try and go though everything tomorrow. Might be kinda busy, but will be about the best have for the next month I think.
So a week with no new posts in this thread. Safe to say we're not getting the missing "new posts in forum" functionality? IMO that's a huge downgrade.
I wonder how much traffic has dropped off since the "upgrade" - I know I spend a lot less time here than I used to, and feel like I'm seeing a lot less posting activity in the forums I frequent...
At the rate things are going, it probably won't happen, but it would be great to have the breadcrumb trail at the bottom moved to just above the quick reply box so someone could return to the forum without scrolling half a mile (I jest) down. Mobile stuff: The "trending threads" still list off-topic stuff. When I click edit post, the menu doesn't disappear upon the new page loading. And... does anyone else miss the next/previous thread links from several renditions ago?
Agreed on that. Not obnoxious as not having the "unread posts in forum" functionality, but resolving that could be a significant upgrade as well.
Tempted to make a poll thread with the question: Has the most recent upgrade been a net plus for you?

No problem, DK. It's only that, without a word from you, we had somehow felt abandoned for some weeks. But it's fully understandable that you had other priorites in your life. If you're back on board, yes, we could tackle one by one the most annoying problems that still remain. I have to say that, in my opinion, the number of problems absolutely needing resolution is by now quite low, at least for PC/desktop users. But, as few as they are, they definitely need to be fixed. As I said multiple times, #1 is having back the "unread posts in forums/subforums" feature. Welcome back.

Sorry about that - and I'm fixing to go on a 2 week vacation where I won't have too much access but let me see what I can do about your #1 issue. Can you clarify what you mean? Being able to see them more clearly? Anyone else have a #1?
Okay - bringing this list back to the top. Any new additions or comments? Mobile Green arrows pointing up and down (“a bit in the way”) – My understanding is that this one may take some time – but I also think the consensus is that this can be useful just needs to be toned down so it takes up less real estate. [how do we feel about this one?] “Tools” menu does not close when editing a post – iPhone and Safari. This is still a problem for me. [still an issue] “Can't tell if I'm on page 1 or 2 since the green looks like a link I need to click”. I don’t understand this one – splain? [is this an issue?] Notifications on left and right not sinc-ed up. Also not sure what this one is – still an issue? Option for dark background. Probably a work in progress. Header is larger (“takes up at least a quarter of the page”) Has this been fixed? Mine doesn’t take up a quarter. Navigation needs redesign to reduce clutter/increase content area. (and the advert doesn’t fit.) Still an issue? (Ad fits for me) Desktop/laptop Videos at top of page are taking up too much real estate. Move elsewhere? TBD Trending threads: The jumping nature of trending threads greatly reduce it’s usefulness. Move the trending threads below the threads (note – or above, perhaps in some grid manner)? Move or add another breadcrumb navigation bar to immediately above or below the page links at the bottom of the thread.
I use Tapatalk so the Mobile issues mean nothing to me. As do most of the Desktop issues frankly. I suppose, if I have a #1 it's this... The green navigation arrows on the right need to be easier to access and not require scrolling. TBD I've said this way above, but basically I have two suggestions: 1) the green arrows should appear if you move your cursor to the lower right. You shouldn't have to use your scroll-wheel or the scroll-bar to make the green arrows appear; 2) they should appear for longer than 2 seconds, to give you a chance to click them... 4-5 secs would seem wiser. p.s. Thanks a lot @dark knight for taking the time to corral people's suggestions, and see if you can get the admins to fix a few more issues.
