Vidal's 2nd yellow was BS, he got the ball cleanly & the sending off was ridiculous. Casemiro should have been send off 2ce. Ronaldo got 2 offside goals.

Anyways the good news is that Robben was phenomenal, if you ignore Ronaldo's offside goals today, Robben was by far the best player in a league of his own at 33 !

Good luck to Ajax in the Europa League semi-finals. That extra time escape with two goals was incredible!

 

Now probably a good thing no German clubs are in the Euro competitions anymore.
It's going to be dangerous attending high profile German soccer matches. The question how that Russian bloke got his hands on military grade stuff is still unanswered, but now they arrested a German military man in Germany who faked himself into the system as a refugee from Syria in 2015 with the intention to commit a terrorist act, thus putting the blame on refugees. He was arrested on an airport, while hiding a gun in the toilet. How many loonies like that are there running around in Germany?

There are some funny posts in the ManU forum. They believe their place in the CL is guaranteed as they expect Ajax from that shitty league is no match in the final of the EL.
As Momo has given up on securing table spot 4 by resting players for the EL match they gamble on the CL track via the EL trophee.
To be honest I've no clue about that being no match as I've barely seen ManU play and when I saw the highlights of some matches it wasnot that good, but this condescending attitude seems to me a stretch as Ajax finally get what PB is aiming for in play style.
I've heared rumours, after the 2 last EL matches, that Peter is on the wish list of several teams that are looking for a new coach in the EPL. After the Koeman bro's success and the Ajax' performance in the EL suddenly our coaches are in the limelight again.

 

It took a Feyenoorder to make Ajax play the "Dutch school" again. I guess the fans from this quote have not extended their season's ticket

Madrid getting knocked out would bring a HUGE smile to my face

 

Bayern-Real; Liverpool-Roma. I'd like to see Liverpool-Bayern final and Van Dijk and Wijnaldum lifting the cup in Kiev.

 

Well, both CL and EL quarter finals made a firm statement against the boring editions we had for years.

 

PSV enter the CL's third qualifying round.

Assuming Ajax finish the season in second place they'll enter the CL's second qualifying round (League Path). The new club coefficients basically guarantee Ajax will be seeded (expecting them to hold off AZ). In case you were unseeded the likes of Basel, Besiktas/Gala, ... would be waiting for e.g. AZ.



In the KNVB Cup it's between Feyenoord and AZ to decide who'll lift the cup, of course, and enter the EL's third qualifying round (with the losers entering the EL's second qualifying round). Finally, there's another EL second qualifying round ticket to be won by teams just outside the top four.

Holland has gained from the 2018/21 reform, i.e. softer League Route opponents. True, there's the possibility none of the Eredivisie clubs reach the CL or EL group stage but that's because of their poor results in the past. The reform OTOH has made it less probable that all Eredivisie clubs fail to reach the group stage.

 

Can Feyenoord upgrade their EL third qualifying round ticket?

Either Arsenal or OM win the EL this year + also qualify for the EL group stage in their own league. In these scenarios Feyenoord enter in the EL group stage if I'm not mistaken.

- OM face Salzburg in the EL semis and currently are assured of at least the EL group stage via their league. They might beat Lyon or Monaco to a CL ticket (only 1 point separating these three).

- Arsenal face Atleti in the EL semis and currently are assured of at least EL qualification but if Burnley overtake them Arsenal miss out on the group stage ticket.

 

There's no upgrade for Feyenoord if Arsenal or OM don't enter the CL next season as EL title holders. In case Arsenal or OM win the EL this year (+ also qualify for the EL group stage in their own league) Feyenoord will be handed a direct EL spot.

Also, PSV will most likely upgrade their CL third qualifying round ticket to a CL play-off round ticket (in case the 2018 CL winners also qualify for next season's CL group stage via their own league). So they'd have to beat one opponent instead of two and are guaranteed to enter at least the EL group stage (if they don't get past the CL play-off round).

Exhilarating first half.. Real Madrid has the advantage with an away goal. They always seem to find a way to fight back That said, Bayern should have been up at least two goals prior to conceding. Ribbery is rubbish. Feel really bad for Robben.

 

2 away goals for Madrid, Boateng and Robben possibly lost to injuries, I think that means lights out for Bayern in the CL this year
