Live coverage of this year's Final between Cameroon & Egypt drew 39,000 viewers on beINSport-1. If not for the deep pockets of beINSport, I wouldn't be surprised if 2 years from now we are back to TV5... SA www.soccertvblog.com
So now there is a live game Celta-Oasuna but Bein Ñ is showing a delayed game sociedad-villarreal instead that was played early today...I just don't understand who make this choices :/
The reason is simple. Sociedad has a player on their roster who is Mexican that will bring in more eyeballs than Celta or Osasuna.
They tend to plug in the early saturday or Sunday game into a later spot if it's a better matchup than the live game. They have been doing it for the past several weeks.
beIn showing Granada vs Barca on both stations instead of one showing the Napoli vs Juve game live. Not sure if they showed any live Serie A this weekend.
I've got no problems streaming the game on their website but Napoli and Juventus should've been priority #1 for them. There is no point of having both channels showing the Barcelona game. It really is amateur hour.
You can't get a following if you're not going to show any live games for a league. I had 2 different people text me today asking why the game isn't on tv. Both are older people who have no desire to stream it on a computer.
Once again, the Serie A gets the short end of the stick from BeIn here in the U.S. Instead of showing the Napoli-Inter match, they decide to air MotoAmerica, which falls under the American Superbike series. If this was a Moto GP 1 race or even World Superbike, I could understand, I enjoy and follow Moto GP. Even the BeIn Esp is showing Bilbao v Celta. I really do not understand their logic behind this. I guess I will have to stream it on their site. I sense they are trying to phase out Serie A futbol. If they are, I hope ESPN or FOX picks it up. BeIn gives no ##### about the Serie A in the States.
The most common Serie A time is Sunday at 9:00 A.M. If Fox kept the Bundesliga and had Serie A, Serie A would conflict with the 9:30 A.M. Bundesliga game. Both Saturday Serie A games conflict with NCAA Football. I think you'd have games you wanted to watch end up on Fox Soccer Plus. Both Saturday Serie A games conflict with NCAA Football just like they do for Fox Sports. I think ESPN starts NFL talk before 11:00 A.M. on Sundays, making it conflict with 9:00 A.M. Serie A games. If you like Serie A maybe you should hope for a new sports channel to be created.
I am not a fan of the Bundesliga, so if they swapped the Bundesliga for the Serie A, that would be just fine with me. Also, I believe Univision airs the Portuguese league, I hope they win the rights in the future or Telemundo. I don't get the logic behind BeIn's plan to air random tennis matches or MotoAmerica instead of the Serie A or showing Bilbao play Celta Vigo on BeIn Esp. I streamed the match, this isn't anything new to me or really even a problem, I watch our leagues games on YouTube but what is BeIn's endgame with the Serie A?
When in doubt... ...follow the money. Usually when a race or tennis tournament or any tiddlywinks event get's special priority over a soccer match on BEIN it is because their Qatar owners have some stake in the programming or sponsorship. Over the years it seems to be a pattern that anything held in Qatar or sponsored by Qatar companies get's special programing treatment cause it probably serves their bottom line economically in comparison to some Italian match that get's relatively small ratings compared to let's say Barca or Real. As for Bilbao-Celta it is a Spanish League match and over the last couple years have decided that Spanish League takes priority on the Spanish channel which does make sense., I know that may not be the best explanation but it is an explanation.
That swap would be fine with me also, but it may not happen. Fox could look at every European league other than the Premier League, Barcelona, and Real Madrid as getting low enough ratings that it wouldn't be worth changing from the Bundesliga to Serie A.
I would take Bundesliga any day of the week. At least, the stadiums are mostly full and the atmosphere is great. Serie A is a big turn off in this aspect except for Juventus.
Would not be a fan of Serie A going to Fox. Although Bein connect is crappy at times, it's free which is better than the Fox Soccer to go app lol
Went to look at this weekends schedule on beIN's website. They've got Las Palmas vs Barca on beIN and Real vs Sevilla on beIN n at 2pm. They have the Juve vs Roma game starting at 4pm. FFS, it's getting ridiculous with them now. They have 1 live Serie A game all weekend, Sunday at 9.
They know that those Spanish teams get the best ratings and they are in a battle for the title. Juve is basically the Champions and can be seen on connect. Not that difficult of a programming decision in my opinion.
Then they should just call themselves the La Liga channel. The fact is that you have the first and second place teams playing each other, if Juve wins their Champions, if they lose then Roma is only a few points back with 2 games to play. I'd rather Serie A give the rights away for free in the US to a station that will develop a real effort in showing their games, then get paid by beIN who doesn't care.
The whole AS Roma vs. Juventus game won't be shown in English until Thursday at 1:00 A.M. Out of the four leagues with 38 games per club, Serie A has six players with at least 22 goals. The Premier League, La Liga, and Ligue 1 combined have five players with at least 22 goals.
I can't believe they are going with Osasuna-Granada ahead of Fiorentina-Lazio on bein n. Both teams already relegated. Don't get it at all. I think people in Spain will turn off the tv for this one.
Thanks for beIN for showing Juve's live game this morning, a shame they had to go to some old tennis and not show the trophy presentation.
