Valencia sucks. I wish they hadn't won the FA Cup last year.

    Play-offs

Mohun Bagan 4-1 Club Valencia (5-2 aggregate)

Mohun Bagan qualify for the group stages, which means two Indian sides, along with Maziya and Dhaka Abahani Ltd will make up Group E, and only one of the four will go through to the Inter-zone play-off semi-finals.

    Man I hate this format.

I wonder why it always takes so long for AFC to list result from North Korea? They don't have internet there, they use pigeons to inform world on their results?

And here it is: 4.25 - Erchim 6-0. Kim Yu Song with 5 goals.

It will be interesting to have the North Korean team in the interzone playoff (probably). Will there be still no live and video recording for their matches as host? :ninja:

I see stadiums are pretty empty in Philippines, shame. Huge win by Global.

4-5 in Vietnam, four goals by Croatian Stipe Plazibat. Great first goal for guests.

Global Cebu FC is playing their last game in Manila where basketball(PBA is Manila based) tends to dominate the headlines and crowds out other sports. You should be more understanding of this as Croatia also loves basketball.

In the inaugural PFL which starts at the end of the month, they will be moving to Cebu city where football is more popular. The stadium there is still undergoing renovation. I think you will see more fans there.

You can see this already happening with Ceres Negros FC, the other Philippine club in this Asian continental tournament, which is playing to packed stadiums in their provincial venue in the current AFC Cup.

Cambodian teams behaved themselves for almost 4 months after the big AFC raid until today Boeung Ket Angkor fixed their match against Johor. Just ban Cambodia from all AFC competitions for 1 year, they were already warned.

It is impossible to have a runner-up with 9 points in either Group G or H. Therefore, if Johor DT obtain at least a draw with Magwe at home, they will qualify as best runner-up in the ASEAN zone.

This happens all the time in their stadium. I predict that some of the other venues in the new league will be just as packed especially with the city rivalries helping to spice up the excitement for the games.

AFC's decision to change the tournament's format into a mishmash of confusion means that only one South Asian club have a chance of making it through to the knockout stages, which is disappointing because I believe that three teams from Group E are capable of going far. I was hoping to see Maldivian side Maziya, who strengthened their squad and brought in a very good, experienced manager, would make it out of the group stages this time. They finally look like an organised unit, but would probably need to scrap it out against Bengaluru FC in the final game. They may actually end up with as many as 15 points and still get eliminated, which is ridiculous.

I doubt why there are two teams from the same league in a group for this tournament. If Maziya can only gets a draw with Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru wins in MD4, Maziya will be in deep trouble as they are 5 points behind the first place. Then two Indian teams will meet in MD5. If Bengaluru wins it, Maziya will be out directly. Who can promise that it won't happen the result fixing between two Indian teams to guarantee a seat for their league? Is it fair for the leagues with only one team in the SAFF/CAFF/EAFF groups?

There is a simple way to avoid this in the future editions. AFC can combine SAFF and CAFF in 2 groups, and ASEAN and EAFF in 4 groups with country protection rule for the draw.

They just could've (should've) expanded old format.

    WEST
20 teams in 5 groups, WAFF and CAFF

    EAST
20/24 teams, 5/6 groups SAFF, ASEAN, EAFF

From both zones 8 teams (group winners and best runners-up) qualify to round of 16.

This what they did is crap. Area of 1,8 bln people and with clubs that invest into development was made equal to that funny EAFF zone where clubs don't want to take part in continental cups. Ridiculous.
