Hitting a little too close to home - ouch! :(

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/21/europe/borussia-dortmund-bus-attack/index.html

"German prosecutors say the man responsible for last week's bomb attack on the bus carrying the Borussia Dortmund soccer team had bought options to short sell 15,000 shares of the club's stock before the attack, hoping to make a profit from the carnage if share prices fell as a result."

Pretty lousy way to make a buck ...

Well, I guess we know who the extortion-apologist, murder-apologists and stock manipulation-apologists are, as well as who the prejudiced posters are, so at least there is that.

And I don't mean to be hard on you. I'm sure you will come on here and apologize like a big boy.

Yep. And a very good definition here, from a Muslim:

The dictionary definition was posted above. One definition is a Muslim Fundamentalist.

That's just a fact. I don't know why anyone would argue against it. How people use it in context is a different issue. But I will tell you very clearly that the post where I used it and was "told" what the defintion "really" was, I meant it as the dictionary definition of "Muslim fundamentalist."

    Is·lam·ist
    ˈizlaməst/
    noun
    noun: Islamist; plural noun: Islamists
    1. 1.
an advocate or supporter of Islamic militancy or fundamentalism.
      "radical Islamists"
(Note the need to add "radical" in the example, which clearly indicates "Islamist" does not necessarily include "radicals."

It is a moot point anyway, as it was, as expected, not Islamists, radical or otherwise, but a not-very-clever Russian-German extortionist with access to German army grade weaponry, apparently.

Still waiting for @Jazzy Altidore and @WShine to weigh in and apologize. I imagine I will be waiting a while.

I'd add something here about labels being largely irrelevant since it really is a kind of nihilism not religious belief that drives the crazies, but as Friesland points out, the ascribed motive was just a feint to disguise the true motive of monetary gain.

No, this is the prejudiced name calling thread involving folks who like to dish it, but can't take it.

@Jazzy Altidore and @WShine told us that the bus attack was "Islamists" and I was an "Islamist apologist" for suggesting that there were others in the history of Europe who had bombed things as well (and if anyone bothered to read this case closely, the cops from the 1st minute were very skeptical about the authenticity of the notes.)

And as some suspected, the notes were bogus, this particular attack had nothing to do with Islamists or Pulisic (one theory was Dortmund was "targeted" because of the American. Stock manipulators hate CP for his freedom.)

Dortmund and CP were just lucky this guy, who is a reasonably accomplished EE apparently was not just a bit better. The pipe bombs he used were very, very deadly. He has served in German military and may have accessed the weapons there.

Maybe there are just too many humans and this murderous/suicidal nihilism is a way our species is developing to control our numbers. I mean, we're fairly large mammals and consume A LOT of resources. So, like all other beasties, we carry our own mechanism of population control in our brains, and this is it.

Osorio had some praise for Pulisic & compared him with Gio dos Santos, which could well be a backhanded compliment --or indicates he plans to call Gio and use him in the coming quals:

Fear The Wall (BVB fan blog) has its view of players possibly leaving this summer, and for the moment has left Auba & Puli out:

If you recall, the debate was about whether it was appropriate to speculate about the cause of the attack on an internet message board, which it entirely is. And it was moreover reasonable to suspect there is a high probability that the attack was associated with islamists, based on recent trends. You, on the other hand, insisted such speculation was unreasonable, even though such attacks occur in Europe on nearly a weakly basis. It turns out that someone else was to blame, but I have nothing to apologize for.

The thread is here to read. I will not rehash.

But as I noted, folks other than violent Islamic terrorists have attacked the public in Europe (In fact, there were more terror attacks in the heyday of ETA and IRA, fwiw.) and, as the police mentioned, but news outlets buried deep in their stories, (though they were in there for anyone interested in reading to the end), the notes were not normal hallmarks of ISIS related attacks and there was a lot about this attack to caution against prejudiced jumping to assignation of blame.

I cautioned that, and for suggesting that caution you and @WShine suggest (well, WShine more than suggested, actually) an "Islamist apologist," which I would think a grown adult might consider deserved an apology. You are free to make your own choices.

I think maybe Gio is in the ballpark offensively but he is not relentless defensively like Pulisic can be. Thinking ahead the US could put out some offensive players that would make it very hard on defenders with Pulisic, Wood, Arriola, Gooch etc. Win balls close to goal stuff.

there exists a high probability that these types of attack relate to Islam. Some turn out not to be. These are facts. Facts are not prejudiced, no matter how much you'd like them to be. I have nothing to apologize for.

But the fact here is you supported the claim that I was an "Islamist apologist" because I noted that other groups that were not Islamists (like the leftists Greek terrorists who sent the IMF bombs last month) also bomb in Europe and that you were pre-judging (actual etymological root of prejudice.) And then the other fact is, it was not violent Islamic terrorists, it was extortion. So, you were wrong on the facts.

But at least you, unlike @WShine are big enough to defend your position.
