It was a sequence where GZ went Dinho on two defenders marking him. Then send in the cross, but as always, his mates were not paying attention to what he was trying to do. No wonder he barely cares when they score.
2) ok, now the bad part. 97'. gets the ball 100% all alone 1:1 in the box but slows up, tries to get cute and place it. keeper easily saves but rebound comes back, still almost all alone and tries to chip the keeper. scuffs it and easily goes right to the goalie. he has to do better there.. it all went wrong, and after such a great play moments before.. uggh.
Yes, Caambur is 13 points behind with 3 games left. Venlo will be in the Ered next season, without GZ.
I only caught the last 15 mins. Mildly impressed and mildly concerned. The good - kept the ball, made simple but nice passes, and solid play in corner at the end. The bad - missed opportunities on goal. He has always seemed quiet and some might even say aloof, but his body language was the worst I can remember. Hopefully, he can get with our u20s and have some.
It's like a bad marriage, when the wife has stopped caring what you say, and you've stopped caring about her not caring. I'll be glad when he's out of there.
It was same at Gers. His shooting sucks and it tends to overshadow all the good. Someone should take him to a handball court and make him hammer a waterlogged ball exactly sixtysix quintjillion times until he become a lithe Bobby Wood with grace.
From the last few posts I get the impression that Zelalem has no good rapport with his team mates. Also read that posters see an uninterested attitude towards the other players. If that is the same in training, then players will have the feeling he doesnot want to be there, so they will treat him as if he's not there. Not good. For GZ it is important to show he's eager to fit in. It's not like they were waiting for him to achieve their goal. How he's perceived by other Eredivisie clubs in his attitude makes or brakes opportunities for a loan on a higher ranking club. You are selling yourself, so make clear you're very eager to learn and contribute. So even if you are misunderstood and sometimes ignored by the other players, donot show displeasure or disappointment, but just try again and show you're no disconcerted by mishap.
Watched the whole game live and was wowed by Zelalem's skill on the flank. His dribbling and passing were impressive as well. Sad that he hasn't improved his ability to score; probably the biggest thing keeping him from flourishing in a top league. But please put a link on here for the video of the dribble if you find it because I want to watch it again.
Not at all. I'm not sure where you got that - I probably failed to express myself well. He's not elite. But he has elite potential based on his skills and vision. IMO, what is holding him back is attitude and an inability to find a situation where he can thrive. Again, my opinion, I don't think that is the championship.
tied 0-0, didn't get off the bench. Ok, let's do the tracker here and draw whatever conclusions we want...but this has not been a good loan at all... honestly can't see one benefit to this loan compared to staying at Arsenal reserves. 13 games named to the squad: - 0 starts - 8 appearances - 171 total minutes His minutes on the field in his 8 appearances: 22, 14, 18, 29, 14, 34, 25, 15 For comparison: he was in the squad for 8 Reserve games this season, all 8 starts, 691 minutes. He turned 20 in January of this year. He'll come due, I'm confident of it, was just not a good loan.
I guess my question at this point is if he is better off having been on this bad loan or would it have been more beneficial to stay at Arsenal on the reserve squad?
