I totally agree. I used to tolerate nationalists but after all the political hysteria the past few years it's clear nationalists are part of the problem, not the solution.

when your average korean hears the story of han kwangsong they dont go 'omg hes korean just like us hes going to be the next park jisung'. hes an intriguing player and i too am interested in hearing his updates but this guy isnt one of our own the way everyone else in this part of the forum are. there is a north korean thread just for this exact purpose. if you would like sub threads you should petition for a north korean forum

Why should the regular citizens of NK be the scapegoat for the action of their government? Yes, we are 2 generations removed from the Norks. Hell I'm fortunate that neither side of my family have/had any relatives in North; so there is no reason for me to "like" the Norks. Yet these people use to share the same culture, speak the same language. So it makes me delusional to want these people to live better lives?

What's more pathetic is that this is a soccer forum. This is sports. Only narrow-minded dimwits would collide sports and politics together. FYI, I'm not for Unified Korea and I'm not for sending aid to Nork. But I will always want the best for the average Norks.

 

No problems with wanting the best for North Koreans, the issue would be if you didn't want the best for other ethnicities like Africa/Japan/Southeast Asia/China etc. Not saying your like that, but saying "blood" brother for NK is borderline fascist if taken the wrong way.

The culture of South Korea today is basically a totally new country from the past.The influence of the Usa on Korea/Japan is undeniable, if anything NK today is a symbol of what Korea used to be. Best to move on and focus on the here and now.

 

Why should I worry about all the other ethnicities? Sure, all the best to them all but North Korea, whether you like it or not, are our neighbors, shared the same culture, and speak the same language. So yeah, I would say I feel closer to the brothers up in the North and want the best for them (it's called human nature to feel closer to people who are similar to you). How is it borderline fascist?
