Germany would be a great league for him to go to next but I just don't see a Champions league/Europa league regular being very interested.

Vitesse want to extend his loan deal.

I mean regularly, even if as a secondary sub. Come on, we all are familiar with their MO.

Ligue 1. I can see his style fitting well there, in a mid-table team like Rennes --where Gnagnon, another youth, is not really convincing as a reg starter.

Funnily enough, Jurgen, when he was USMNT was reported to be pretty active about contacting clubs about USMNT players. Dunno how much difference it ever made (Yedlin to Spurs suggests he had some influence perhaps...) of if he'd still do it, but seemed to be willing back in the day.

Those aren't the only connections that exist. He has relationships, on account that he developed there, and with many clubs in Germany due to all his time there as a coach and player, coupled with his ability to network. People owe him and he owes some people. He knows how to play the game.

And for him it would be beneficial if Miazga gets to a bigger club and succeeds because then he can take some credit for it afterward. He got his first cap under Klinsmann early on.

I think JK could be a great agent/facilitator. He'd be ideal for kids who want to play in Germany or England. If that's his next step/gig he'd be a boon to American soccer.

Obviously every kid shouldn't go overseas but if someone like Kellyn Acosta or Walker Zimmerman reached out to him he'd do right by them to get either one a chance to move on to a bigger club in the best situation they can in Europe.

He's a very young CB, but sure, why not. Who knows how he develops? The whole point of buying young players is that you hope to hit on a gem. If Miazga develops really well, Chelsea would bring him back. Why not?

Of course it's possible but it's only realistic to say it's extremely unlikely. "Maybe he'll be much better than people expect" isn't really an argument worth making, you could say the same about every and any player.

Sure! But the issue isn't that Chelsea aren't willing to take players back from loan - they've done it repeatedly! It's that the onus is on the player to become good enough for Chelsea to bring them back.

I'd also give MM slightly higher odds at this point then when he was bought (which ain't say much, but still) given that he's been able to find his legs relatively quickly at Vitesse. Adaptability and ability to adjust to a more technical situation suggests to me a bigger upside than I original thought (only having seen him a handful of times at RB.) He has Brek Shea-ed yet anyway. More Yedlin than anyone so far.

  15. All thanks to our superior development:D
By the way @freisland , this thursday in Ljouwert the Passion is taking place. The whole city is the stage. This is something all cities in the Netherlands are fighting over to have it. Maybe something for you or family! The tv company EO also gives a free dvd of it max 1 per address in the Netherlands, so order it from a family member here!!

It looks like Van der Werff will be out for a few more weeks. Matt will most likely play the KNVB Cup final too.

How has his performances been compared to Van Der Werff (before he was injured?)

Thursday Jesus proved more popular to watch (over 3 million for the Passion in Leeuwarden) than Ajax (1.6 million for the Euro League match against Schalke04) on tv.
The real Son of God wins over the blasphemistically self proclaimed "godenzonen".;)

I didn't see anything wrong the first time...

  25. From comments by team mate and Chelsea co loanie Lewis Baker the Chelsea management closely follow and thoroughly analyse the matches of their players at Vitesse. So I doubt they read my postings with the ratings of the Chelsea loans, but prefer to go by their own judgement on the play. Baker mentiones that he also receives comments on what he has done good and of course on what he has done not so good plus suggestions to do better.
