League average: 4,099 through the first two weeks. Independent teams are averaging 5,256. MLS2 teams are averaging 2,132.
Sac Republic vs. Orange County April 1, 2017 Aaaand we have another sellout crowd of 11,569 fans @PapaMurphysPark tonight! Thank you FANS!!!— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) April 2, 2017
The 2032 at OKC @ Colorado Springs is impressive given how bad the weather was: snow throughout the day, wind and temps in the 30s
Sun. April 2 T2 @ S2 - either 952 (http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2017...portland-timbers-2-score-2-1-starfire-stadium) or 962 (http://www.timbers.com/post/2017/04/02/usl-match-recap-seattle-sounders-fc-2-2-portland-timbers-2-1)
Sun. April 2nd Portland Timbers 2 @ Seattle Sounders 2- 952 http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2017...portland-timbers-2-score-2-1-starfire-stadium Edit: eb684 beat me to it
Assuming my math is correct, after today's game average attendance is at 3983 through 2 weeks (111,535 attended 28 games)
I have 111,625 in 28 games for an average of 3,987. When the error is 90, it usually tells me I have transposed two digits somewhere.
Tues. April 4th TFC II @ Orlando City B- 1098 http://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2017/04/04/ocb-earns-first-victory-season-against-toronto-fc-ii Wed. April 5th Harrisburg @ NYRB II- 396 http://www.uslsoccer.com/newyorkredbullsii-harrisburgcityislanders-905461
When I calculated again I was still getting 111,535 through 28 games, which is now at 113,029 through 30 games after the Tues. and Wed. night games for an average of 3767
I have 113,119. Which one of these do I have wrong? Bethlehem............3,102 Charleston...........2,247 Charlotte............2,048 Colorado Springs.....2,032 LA Galaxy II.........1,517 Louisville...........6,758 New York.............1,202 Orlando City B.......3,839 Phoenix..............6,890 Pittsburgh...........5,938 Portland.............2,602 Real Monarchs........1,771 Reno................10,121 Richmond.............8,021 Rio Grande Valley....6,030 Sacramento..........11,569 Saint Louis..........5,566 San Antonio..........8,074 Seattle..............2,067 Swope Park...........1,632 Tampa Bay...........12,036 Tulsa................8,057
Charleston was 2447 http://www.uslsoccer.com/charlestonbattery-fccincinnati-905432 Edit: slow morning at work so I checked the rest of the USL numbers Everything looks good except the Charleston noted above and I found a difference in Tulsa and a unreported for Seattle The have Tulsa at 4952 and 3015, totals 7967 Seattle 1115 for first and no report for second match
Thanks, Mikey! See, the 3,015 v 3.105 is a transposition error on my part. I have 952 on Seattle's second match. So now I have 113,229 on 30 games, which is still not what m_vandersee has. Hmmmmm.
I got nothing on Real Monarchs/Reno last night. Tonight: Rochester at Toronto (525) [SOURCE] Colorado Springs at San Antonio (6,217) [SOURCE]
Saturday, April 8 Louisville at Richmond - 7,603 [SOURCE] LA II at Phoenix - 6,330 [SOURCE] Rio Grande Valley at OKC - 5,899 [SOURCE] Ottawa at Tampa Bay - 5,310 [SOURCE] New York II at St. Louis - 4,807 [SOURCE] Sacramento at Tulsa - 4,759 [SOURCE] Pittsburgh at Charleston - 2,425 [SOURCE] Orange County at Portland 2 - 1,834 [SOURCE] Charlotte at Orlando - 1,512 [SOURCE] Seattle 2 at Vancouver 2 - 738 [SOURCE] I would have thought there were more people in Portland who couldn't get tickets to Timbers games who would just naturally desire tickets to T2 games. Charleston....what's up with that? Went to Phoenix's game. The stadium is actually a pretty good thing. Field is great. For a temp venue, it's good.
Switchbacks seem to have trouble in the early games with weather. I remember something like this weather-wise in their inaugural season...the second match I think. Kudos to the Trailheads and others who showed up.
Charleston numbers have been down but last night was always going to be tough. Local hockey, local baseball, and a big women tennis tournament with the start of spring break makes it tough night. That and an increase in ticket prices. Hope to see numbers up soon
Maybe they're watching the women's team instead? They're posting good numbers and - IIRC - the Timbers' reserve team used to post good numbers before the Thorns started up.
Wed. April 12 St. Louis at Pittsburgh-3083 http://www.uslsoccer.com/pittsburghriverhounds-saintlouisfc-905477 Colorado Springs @ RGV-5481 http://www.uslsoccer.com/riograndevalleyfc-coloradospringsswitchbacksfc-905478
Saturday, April 15 (So far) Ottawa at Richmond - 4,974 [SOURCE] Rochester at Charleston - 2,421 [SOURCE] Pittsburgh at Charlotte - 1,030 [SOURCE] Saint Louis at Cincinnati - 23,144 [SOURCE] Bethlehem at Harrisburg - N/R Tampa Bay at Louisville - 9,074 [SOURCE] Some games still to come. Richmond has lost a lot of that opening day audience. Charleston still very disappointing. Charlotte played somewhere called "Eagle Field," which I don't know. Cincinnati's is not a record for D2 (that should still be the first game at what is now CenturyLink Field back in the day) Can't find Harrisburg yet
Yeah, I have since found it, but many thanks! Also - Sacramento at Swope Park - 1,002 [SOURCE] Reno at San Antonio - 6,403 [SOURCE] With Galaxy II still to play tonight (and with one RMSLC data point missing), the league average is 4,126.
