I can't remember his name, but he is a 19-year old from Bolivar, who supposedly was going to be heavily scouted at this tournament. Soria actually expelled him and another player from Santa Cruz, both for fighting during practice.
He probably just did it to piss off Claure.

Too bad for the two young players.

So a 48 team world cup for 2026 the break down seams to be
    16 uefa
    6-8 afc
    5-6 concacaf
    6-8 caf
    1 oceania
    6 conmebol

I don't know if this betters our chances, I also read Venezuela is pushing a unification of conmebol and concacaf. What do you boys think?????

I would LOVE unification as I'm sure would Venezuela. USA and Mex probably would be on board as well because of $$$. Not to sure if the other Central American countries/ Caribbean countries would be up for it though...

I agree with the money part but I think the biggest opposition is going to be from the Caribbean countries that would see there opportunity to make wc threaten by conmebol teams. If they where to unify I guess we would get 10 maybe 11 spots.

List of players called up. I'm impartial but I would of liked to have less players from teams playing international tournaments. I understand that some of those players are the best we have however we need new blood. We are disqualified from Russia we need to work with the younger generations, and get more players some international exposure. Ronald Raldes shouldn't be called up unless these are his last games with the NT.

I think Soria is punishing Bolivar for not releasing their players for the mid-week training the NT did a couple weeks ago.

Particularly considering his wish to call younger players, but he doesn't call Savedra and Maygua that usually start for Bolivar and are the best we have as far as experienced youth goes. He did call Justiniano I guess and I understand not calling Arrascaita cuz he's still recovering from an injury.

Maygua has not been impressing me as of late. Seems to have confidence issues at the moment and I hope that this isnt his ceiling.

Vaca wasn't called up either and he is the best keep er we have alongside Lampe and he's playing internationally.

Not calling up Conejo Arce and possibly Guti, Veizagais a big mistake and shows what how hard-headed Soria is. I can't believe he got to coach the NT again after the Copa America scandal where supposedly they were going to refuse to play. They are senior players but I think Arce is pretty much the property owner at Siles. Our Best Player and Leader.

Moreno Martins should have not been even considered imo because he is playing in the Chinese 2nd division. You have Fierro not being called up and has scored probably more goals than Moreno this year.

Soria cracks and calls up Arce and who I think is the best defender Bolivia has at this time Zenteno. I don't want to see this game because of the form we are in. But it's my self punishment, I'll find the time and the stream to punish myself and watch with hope. Not looking forward to this Thursday.

Oh me too! For the first time in a long time I dont even feel like watching an NT game;but I probably will. just with the way our federation moves, its very demoralizing. I bet thats how the good players feel and were running out of good players. Safe to say that our futbol is all about connections and influence like in many other federations. There has to be better players born in the country.

What's gone on with Chumacero and Escobar? I know Chumasteiger has been getting inconsistent call ups. Not sure about the latter though.

The coach left them in La Paz to reserve them for the game against Argentina on Tuesday.

Players that stood out for me were Justiniano and Cuellar (needed time to get comfortable) because they tried to at least show some offensive capability and ball retention. That says something about the others who have NT experience. Sad that we get praised for defending when a carefully devised counter plan could have made Bolivia surpass mediocrity.
DT Soria's plan all the time was to just beat Argentina so he could keep his job get the lousy Bolivian press to praise him for the victory;the same way they praise our parking of the bus.

IDK man, 5 players made their debut on this game as starters plus 2 more that came as subs. I think they played solid defense, we have to understand our limitations with our pool of players. Better teams than us go to Colombia to defend, we can't really expect more with an inexperienced roster.

I agree he'll try to beat Argentina with the best we got, but after that I think he'll try to give younger players a chance. Honestly, Even though I want our players or players to get more experience - I can't help to wish he puts our best against Argentina and Chile for pride and to complicate their chances to make it to the WC.

An L in Colombia and a meaningless win La-paz to close out another Conmebol WCQ match week. Sorry but I'm in the minority that did not enjoy today's win. However with the political problems and the horrible WCQ campaign that Bolivia has had this past cycle I understand what this victory against a top side means. Yet to me it feels shallow and it angers me to think that this win justifies and worst prolongs the reign of the FBF. What I want more then beating Argentina and Brazil is for our federation to invest in infrastructure and to commit to a process. I know that having the above doesn't guarantee success. If that was the case USA would be top 4 or higher every WC. With that being said I would rather have the change instead of a meaningless victory any year. I'm happy for the boys, I thought Chuma ran with 3 lungs, my player of the match. Conejo was so badass in the way he plays making sure that the other team knew every minute that they were playing in his house. I just can't stop feeling like the team deserves more, that we deserve more. I guess we will continue this in June. Good win, I guess.

I agree, it does anger me as well, the fact that because of special interests, and lack of foresight, or country is stuck in this funk for the last 20 to 25 years! Perfect example is the CAR in Vinto, We get the money from FIFA , build it and now the local government has a claim on it?
It's not just the FBF, our entire government are like crabs in a bucket. That being said a win is a win, imagine if we tied against Argentina? or even lost? We needed to save some sort of self respect. For the rest of the games I expect to see a much more confident and attacking
side, hope to see the young players get some minutes and hopefully win at home ad take some points on the road. I'm not sure that Soria is the answer to our problems, the again no one man is, we do however need to stick to a process once and for all. My two cents.

Disappointing WCQ its now time to start thinking in 2022. Qatar which I don't think is as attractive as 2024 with 48 teams.

    Let the games begin.
Who should retire before the next WCQ?
    Who should continue on?
Who are your potential young players that you see coming into form for 2022 WCQ?
    Should we change Managers?
Should FIFA ban Bolivia and force all current FBF to resign and start fresh?
Is FBF going to build a home for our NT before 2022 or ever?

    What do you guys think?

May 28 Bolivia vs USA, anybody going?

Last time they played USA spanked us 4-0, it looks like the US is going with a much stronger team. Bolivia is rumored to be bring a U-23 squad, I am actually excited to see who they will call up. This next three friendlies won’t mean much Bolivia will have a different coach for the 2022 WCQ.

The bolivian federation faces a big fine for breach of contract, if they send an u-23 team. The group that booked the three matches has demanded- by contract- that they send a pro team. I think what is gping to happen is that the “invited” coach will have to selectfrom the six teams that didn’t make the new playoff format, and by the time the first match is scheduled, four more teams should be out and available to release players.
Either way, we are going to be embarrassed again.

I was lucky to watch Korea vs Bolivia this morning. Great game, Korea was a great opponent and Bolivia with little skill and physical capacity didn’t look that bad. I liked the CB paring of Haquin and Jusino, Cordano was great at GK. I think we have a fighting chance this copa America.
